Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said T\u00fcrkiye<\/a> will continue close coordination and cooperation with Germany<\/a> on bilateral, regional and international issues following talks in Berlin.<\/p>\n

Fidan made the remarks in a post on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal after his official visit to Germany, where the third meeting of the T\u00fcrkiye-Germany Strategic Dialogue Mechanism was held.<\/p>\n

The meeting was co-chaired by Fidan and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul. Fidan also met Chancellor Friedrich Merz and North Rhine-Westphalia State Premier Hendrik W\u00fcst during the visit.<\/p>\n

Fidan said the previous meeting of the mechanism had been held 12 years ago, adding that the latest session showed the two countries\u2019 shared will to advance strategic cooperation.<\/p>\n

He said bilateral ties<\/a> were discussed comprehensively, particularly in meetings with Merz and Wadephul.<\/p>\n

The two sides will continue to deepen cooperation in defense industry, economy, energy and connectivity through concrete projects and mutual investments, Fidan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will resolutely continue our close coordination and cooperation with our ally Germany on bilateral, regional and international issues,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Fidan also said the Turkish community in Germany remained an important bridge strengthening the human, cultural and economic foundations of relations between the two countries.<\/p>\n

The talks also addressed preparations for the NATO summit to be held in Ankara in July, European security, the Russia-Ukraine war, the war involving the United States, Israel and Iran, and the situation in Gaza.<\/p>\n
