\n\tAdidas<\/a> and Pixar\u2019s \u201cToy Story\u201d franchise<\/a> are hardly strangers, with semifrequent collaborations<\/a> dating back to 2019\u2019s release of \u201cToy Story 4.\u201d Now, with a new film around the corner next month, the sportswear brand is teaming back up with the animation studio for a three-sneaker collection<\/a> which includes a nod to the franchise\u2019s beloved astronaut, Buzz Lightyear.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a trio of intricately detailed styles connected to the film, it\u2019s the Toy Story<\/a> x Adidas<\/a> Adistar Control 5 Buzz Lightyear that is getting the most attention so far. Using Adidas<\/a>\u2019 on-trend Adistar Control 5 2000s running shoe as its base, the Buzz Lightyear-branded pair dons the character\u2019s signature white, lime green and purple color combination. \u201cLightyear\u201d branding appears on the tongue, while a \u201cSpace Ranger\u201d badge is featured on the heel.<\/p>\n

\n\tBut what may be the most alluring feature of the Buzz Lightyear Adistar Control 5 is a detail that will only be found on smaller-sized pairs. On kid\u2019s sizes, the midsole and heel of the shoe feature green and purple LED lights which can be powered on and off with the touch of a button at the heel.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlong with the Buzz Lightyear style, the upcoming \u201cToy Story 5\u201d-timed collection includes a Samba Jane for Jessie and a more traditional Samba for Woody.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tOriginally released in 2008, the Adistar Control 5 was reintroduced by Adidas in January. Collaborations<\/a> thus far have been scarce, but most notably, the shoe was redesigned by Cincinnati retailer Unheardof for its popular Piggy Runner series.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith \u201cToy Story 5\u201d set to arrive in theaters on June 19, the latest Toy Story x Adidas collection<\/a> lands at retail a few days earlier on June 6. The Buzz Lightyear Adistar Control 5 will be available in full family sizing with prices ranging from to $65 to $130. The sneaker\u2019s adult style code is LA3965.<\/p>\n
