{"id":24082,"date":"2026-05-26T14:06:38","date_gmt":"2026-05-26T14:06:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/24082\/"},"modified":"2026-05-26T14:06:38","modified_gmt":"2026-05-26T14:06:38","slug":"kwh-analytics-closes-munich-re-backed-parametric-wind-proxy-hedge-for-apex-clean-energy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/24082\/","title":{"rendered":"kWh Analytics closes Munich Re-backed parametric wind proxy hedge for Apex Clean Energy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>kWh Analytics, a provider of climate insurance and risk management for renewable energy projects, has closed a parametric Wind Proxy Hedge risk transfer deal, backed by Munich Re, for Apex Clean Energy\u2019s 79MW wind project in Virginia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-148498\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/kWh_analytics_logo.jpg\" alt=\"kWh Analytics \" width=\"360\" height=\"227\"  \/>The financial structure utilised the kWh Analytics Indifference Structure for debt sizing, with Munich Re providing the parametric hedge and MUFG and CIBC acting as project lenders.<\/p>\n<p>By combining the wind proxy hedge with the Indifference Structure, it addresses wind resource volatility by adding investment-grade cash flow above the P99 wind speed scenario. This significantly enhances the project\u2019s credit profile and supports greater debt capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The structure\u2019s implementation with a marquee sponsor in the wind space underscores the growing adoption of this risk transfer solution.<\/p>\n<p>It generates approximately $7 of additional debt for every dollar of premium paid during the mini-perm period.
