{"id":25221,"date":"2026-05-27T22:01:31","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T22:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/25221\/"},"modified":"2026-05-27T22:01:31","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T22:01:31","slug":"oakfield-fc-receives-energy-audit-of-facilities-as-part-of-the-greener-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/25221\/","title":{"rendered":"Oakfield FC receives energy audit of facilities as part of The Greener Game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s the latest club to benefit from the programme<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/p\/Oakfield-FC-61560765742551\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Oakfield FC<\/a> recently signed up to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.eonenergy.com\/news\/to-publish-april-1-the-greener-game-delivering-for-policy-not-just-grassroots-football\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">The Greener Game<\/a> programme, an initiative from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.englandfootball.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">England Football<\/a> and energy provider <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eonnext.com\/tariffs\/next-pledge?utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_account=E.ON-Next&amp;utm_campaign=Acquisition-Brand&amp;utm_Adgroup=%7BAdgroup%7D&amp;utm_keyword=eon%20next&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds&amp;&amp;utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=cpc&amp;utm_campaign=Acquisition+-+Brand&amp;utm_term=go_cmp-12266587106_adg-171176623137_ad-801774243579_kwd-960391380659_dev-c_ext-_prd-_mca-_sig-CjwKCAjwtIfPBhAzEiwAv9RTJgm-Y83AmUpsXmr5APuf8FRcatU01k0cluStfQVo7vR75Ev58QhEMhoC1lQQAvD_BwE&amp;gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=12266587106&amp;gbraid=0AAAAABtBTxdcUgwubsVsygDRUuFwqGQ6G&amp;gclid=CjwKCAjwtIfPBhAzEiwAv9RTJgm-Y83AmUpsXmr5APuf8FRcatU01k0cluStfQVo7vR75Ev58QhEMhoC1lQQAvD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">E.ON Next<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The club has received a free energy audit as part of the national programme to improve the sustainability credentials of grassroots football clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Together, England Football and E.ON Next aim to drive decarbonisation, promote sustainable practices, and reduce energy costs for clubs across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Oakfield FC is the latest team to benefit in the first year of the programme, and has received a free energy audit from E.ON Next. <\/p>\n<p>The audit and follow-up report, will help the club to manage their energy usage and hopefully reduce costs, therefore helping preserve its position at the heart of the local community for years to come.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next four years, The Greener Game programme will empower grassroots clubs by providing them with funding opportunities for sustainable upgrades, alongside a wealth of educational resources and energy-saving guides.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/9e794ed215b84206bb36c4b161c899bf.jpeg\" alt=\"Oakfield FC 1\" width=\"580\" height=\"435\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The programme is set to invest \u00a31.5million annually into grassroots football, benefiting around 75 to 100 clubs each year.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, many more clubs will benefit from energy and cost saving advice and guidance from E.ON Next. <\/p>\n<p>Clubs that sign up to the programme will receive an <a href=\"https:\/\/news.eonenergy.com\/news\/growing-the-greener-games-impact-with-energy-support-packs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Energy Support Pack<\/a>, empowering them to make positive changes to their club\u2019s energy needs.<\/p>\n<p>Ross Hammond, Chairman at Oakfield FC, said: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to receive this audit as part of the Greener Game programme. Energy bills are a large part of our running costs, so to be able to take steps that help to keep them down is a real boost. We\u2019re also passionate about reducing our carbon footprint, and the investment from The FA and E.ON Next will be a huge boost to our decarbonisation efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Phil Woodward, The FA\u2019s Head of Clubs and Facilities, added: \u201cOur Greener Game programme is a significant milestone for grassroots football and sustainability. Improving facilities is a key part of our grassroots strategy and our partnership with E.ON Next allows us to give clubs like Oakfield FC practical tools and knowledge to embrace energy-efficient practices that will not only improve their operations and benefit the environment, but will also enable them to save money.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And Scott Somerville, E.ON UK\u2019s Director of External Affairs, said: \u201cAs a business committed to social impact, our objectives are to help communities become more prosperous, more cohesive and more sustainable.
