\n collaboration marks a first step towards scaling domain-specific AI

\n Complexity and Data Volume in Crash Simulation \u00a0<\/p>\n
The scale and complexity of crash simulation at the BMW Group
\n underline the need for domain-specific AI. Each week, the company
\n runs thousands of virtual crash simulations, generating vast amounts
\n of engineering data. Over time, this has resulted in a historical
\n dataset of over one petabyte of crash simulation data. It provides
\n highly detailed insights into vehicle structures and material
\n behaviour, forming a unique foundation for training an industrial AI
\n model. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\n Large Industry Model\u00a0as technical\u00a0foundation \u00a0<\/p>\n
To scale this approach, the BMW Group is focusing on so-called
\n Large Industry Models (LIM). These are AI systems trained on
\n industry specific engineering and simulation data from vehicle
\n development and safety testing. Unlike general\u2011purpose AI systems,
\n LIMs embed domain\u2011specific knowledge directly into the AI model.
\n This requires not only industrial data, but also deep domain
\n expertise and technical environments that allow AI systems to learn
\n directly from BMW\u2019s development processes. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The partnership highlights the importance of industrial data for
\n the next phase of data\u2011driven value creation and strengthens the BMW
