The duo believes the interface-based integration is a crucial step toward coordinated robot-MRI operation and builds a foundation for future partnership opportunities.

AiM has developed a unique MRI-compatible robotics platform with a first product allowing precision MRI-guided neurosurgery for quickly and accurately placing neurostimulator leads, performing tumor and epilepsy ablation, performing biopsies, and delivering therapeutics. AiM’s system will connect with Siemens’ MRI scanners ranging from 1.5T and 3T to 0.55T systems, including the recently launched Magnetom Free.XL.

The software interface allows data exchange and collaborative functions between the robotic platform and MRI system.
