{"id":27223,"date":"2026-05-30T23:54:26","date_gmt":"2026-05-30T23:54:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/27223\/"},"modified":"2026-05-30T23:54:26","modified_gmt":"2026-05-30T23:54:26","slug":"top-german-conservative-speculation-of-move-against-merz-nonsense","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/27223\/","title":{"rendered":"Top German conservative: Speculation of move against Merz &#8216;nonsense&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Speculation about a move to topple German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is &#8220;nonsense,&#8221; a leading conservative said on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">In a speech to party delegates from Merz&#8217;s Christian Democrats (CDU) in the central state of Hesse, veteran lawmaker Jens Spahn highlighted the government&#8217;s achievements and touted a shift in policy across various fields.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">He described Merz as a chancellor who gets things done and has a clear vision for reforming Germany and restoring its economic strength. &#8220;And in this he has our full support,&#8221; he told party delegates, branding recent speculation &#8220;nonsense.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Boris Rhein, the popular CDU premier of Hesse, added: &#8220;We do not need less Merz.
