The figure was down about 13 percent from 2,521 incidents the previous year, but remained more than double pre-October 7, 2023, levels.\n<\/p>\n \u201cThe threat to Jewish life is worse than at any time since the Holocaust,\u201d Hesse antisemitism commissioner Uwe Becker said in a statement following the report.<\/p>\n This week\u2019s incident also comes amid a wave of recent hostility towards Israeli and Jewish tourists abroad, marking the third incident in as many weeks of hotels or spas refusing entry to Jewish or Israeli guests.<\/p>\n On Friday, two Jewish American women said they were denied entry<\/a> to a Barcelona sauna because they were wearing Star of David necklaces. The sauna\u2019s owners later\u00a0apologized.<\/p>\n Weeks earlier, two Israeli tourists were verbally harassed<\/a> by an employee at a hotel in California, with video showing the employee asking the couple if they were \u201cbaby killers\u201d and whether they had served in the Israeli military.<\/p>\n
