The platform also connects supply chain and service information across enterprise workflows.<\/p>\n<p>The launch was announced at Realize LIVE Americas 2026 in Detroit, alongside updates to Siemens\u2019 simulation, digital twin, <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/techhq.com\/news\/generative-ai-boms-in-manufacturing-supply-chains\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">manufacturing<\/a>, and cloud software products.<\/p>\n<p>The updates cover lifecycle data, digital twins, and AI-supported workflows, according to Siemens.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Hemmelgarn, president and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries Software, said manufacturers need systems that can respond as production, supply, regulatory, and material conditions change. \u201cSupply chains break. Demand swings happen overnight. Regulation shifts occur. A material can disappear. Suddenly you\u2019ve got to move a factory from one part of the world to another,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Siemens introduces Intelligence Center X<\/p>\n<p>Intelligence Center X sits within Siemens Xcelerator and combines Mendix with Graph Studio and AI Studio from Siemens\u2019 RapidMiner portfolio. The platform supports AI workflows using governed engineering and manufacturing data, according to Siemens.<\/p>\n<p>Hemmelgarn described an aircraft maintenance scenario involving hydraulic leaks across a jet fleet. In the example, an AI agent combines operational data with physics-based simulation. Teamcenter identifies the affected configurations, while Intelligence Center X recommends actions such as redesigning a part, changing maintenance intervals, or absorbing the cost.<\/p>\n<p>AI outputs depend on the data sources used, Hemmelgarn said. He cited a customer CEO who warned against AI systems relying on outdated repositories, including a SharePoint location that was \u201c20 years old.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Siemens\u2019 AI work covers simulation, workflow automation, and lifecycle data. Hemmelgarn said AI is being used to narrow the design space by learning from earlier simulations and real-world data, while keeping the underlying physics engines intact.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe physics engine does not change. What changes is how intelligently we\u2019re aiming it. It\u2019s not replacing deterministic truth. It\u2019s making it scalable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Siemens updates simulation and design tools<\/p>\n<p>Simcenter Simsolid was among the simulation products discussed at the event. The software reduces the preparation work normally required for simulation by removing the need for geometry preparation and meshing.<\/p>\n<p>Simcenter PhysicAI uses deep learning trained on historical simulation data to evaluate new designs. Kinetic Vision reported that the tool delivered predictions 4,000 times faster with 98 per cent accuracy, according to Siemens.<\/p>\n<p>Simcenter PhysicsAI Generate was another product announcement. The software generates design concepts from input data and produces geometry that engineers can edit using Designcenter Convergent Modeling.<\/p>\n<p>The 3D integrated circuit updates covered thermal, electrical, and mechanical design functions.<\/p>\n<p>Its portfolio for this area includes Designcenter and Simcenter for thermal flow analysis, Innovator3D IC for stacked die architectures, and Calibre 3DThermal for die-level heat analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Siemens expanded its design-to-source tools through Supplyframe, Xometry, and Volition. Supplyframe, which Siemens owns, provides pricing, availability, and lifecycle data to 15 million users, according to the company.<\/p>\n<p>A new partnership with Xometry extends those sourcing capabilities into CNC machining, 3D printing, metal fabrication, and injection moulding. Siemens said its acquisition of Volition adds access to standard industrial parts from thousands of suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>Siemens also covered software-defined products. In one demonstration, product software was validated against a virtual ARM processor that had not yet been built.<\/p>\n<p>PepsiCo details digital twin use<\/p>\n<p>PepsiCo presented its use of Siemens digital twin software. Steve Hoinka, global vice president of Manufacturing Strategy and Transformation at PepsiCo, said the company is using digital twins to redesign manufacturing and warehouse operations.<\/p>\n<p>The project involved two brownfield facilities, a new mixing centre, and a redesigned value chain. PepsiCo used Teamcenter, Plant Simulation, and Digital Twin Composer to test multiple designs before making physical changes. The setup also used NVIDIA Omniverse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will do nothing, make no capital investment unless we prove it digitally first. Design digitally, implement physically,\u201d Hoinka said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hoinka, the work helped PepsiCo avoid more than 90 per cent of potential operational issues before implementation. The project also delivered a 20 per cent throughput improvement across the end-to-end value chain, according to Hoinka.<\/p>\n<p>Hoinka said the project reduced capital expenditure by 10 to 15 per cent. Design cycles were also reduced from months to weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Cloud and lifecycle tools added<\/p>\n<p>Joe Bohman, executive vice president of PLM Products at Siemens Digital Industries Software, outlined updates across Siemens\u2019 simulation, cloud, manufacturing, and lifecycle software.<\/p>\n<p>Simulation workflows have often depended on specialist users and long preparation cycles, Bohman said. He presented the new Simcenter as a unified simulation portfolio covering solvers, test solutions, and AI-based performance engineering.<\/p>\n<p>The portfolio has been expanded following Siemens\u2019 acquisition of Altair. Simcenter Simsolid allows engineers to run structural analysis from CAD assemblies without the usual meshing process, Bohman said.<\/p>\n<p>PAVE360 was another product discussed by Bohman. The tool allows embedded software to be tested against virtual hardware before chips are manufactured. Polarion, Siemens\u2019 application lifecycle management software, links requirements, test cases, and change management.<\/p>\n<p>Opcenter connects production planning and scheduling with quality and shop-floor execution, Bohman said.<\/p>\n<p>The Xcelerator as a Service portfolio was also updated. The cloud-native lineup includes Teamcenter X, Designcenter X, Simcenter X, Opcenter X, and Intelligence Center X.<\/p>\n<p>Bohman said the services are managed cloud versions of Siemens\u2019 on-premise products. He cited semiconductor lifecycle management as one use case, with GlobalFoundries using Siemens technology to connect design, fabrication, and yield optimisation across its operations.<\/p>\n<p>Shape details manufacturing changes<\/p>\n<p>Shape Corporation presented its digital engineering work. Ed Pleet, chief technology officer at Shape Corporation, said the Michigan-based company is changing how it develops and manufactures crash and energy management systems.<\/p>\n<p>Shape has traditionally served the automotive sector and is expanding into aerospace, humanoids, and other technology areas. Pleet said the company is not simply digitising existing workflows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re not taking our current process and just making a digital representation of that. We\u2019re looking to redo most of our processes and then digitise that, and that\u2019s a real return on our digital transformation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Shape\u2019s target is to make the first physical part a saleable part, according to Pleet.<\/p>\n<p>Its previous workflow moved through CAD, meshing, simulation, failure, and redesign. Manufacturing feasibility came later, while bills of materials were created manually.<\/p>\n<p>That model could take 18 months from concept to launch, according to Pleet.<\/p>\n<p>Shape now uses machine learning trained on thousands of historical designs to generate new concepts with predicted performance outcomes. Those concepts are fed into automated parametric models in Designcenter.<\/p>\n<p>Shape is using Simcenter Inspire Extrude in manufacturing.
