{"id":3276,"date":"2026-04-09T10:40:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T10:40:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/3276\/"},"modified":"2026-04-09T10:40:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T10:40:07","slug":"heinz-glas-launches-e13-million-furnace-in-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/3276\/","title":{"rendered":"Heinz-Glas launches \u20ac13 million furnace in Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/heinz-glas.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Heinz-Glas<\/a> has inaugurated an all-electric glass melting furnace at its plant in Kleintettau, Germany. <\/p>\n<p>The furnace was launched last week and will use CO2-free electricity. <\/p>\n<p>Construction costs amounted to approximately \u20ac13 million.<\/p>\n<p>The project took approximately 14 weeks, starting with the draining and cooling the old furnace, followed by its demolition, rebuilding, and tempering. <\/p>\n<p>The scale of the project can be illustrated by the amount of material moved: <\/p>\n<p>Within six days, 400 tons of refractory material &#8211; as well as 250 tons of glass, steel, and other materials &#8211; were demolished and removed.<\/p>\n<p> Within 30 days, 450 tons of fireproof material were transported and installed.<\/p>\n<p>At a small inauguration ceremony, Heinz-Glas management thanked all participating departments and external companies for their work. <\/p>\n<p>Carletta Heinz, CEO and Owner of the Heinz-Glas Group, said: \u201cBuilding a new tank is always a major undertaking that can only be accomplished together. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am proud that we have successfully completed this project and that production with the new tank has already started.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Rolf Schieder, former Professor of Practical Theology and Religious Education at the Humboldt University of Berlin, performed the ceremonial blessing of the furnace, which was christened \u201cJosephine\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>Since 2024, all the Heinz-Glas Group&#8217;s German production sites have used fully electric glass melting furnaces.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Heinz-Glas has inaugurated an all-electric glass melting furnace at its plant in Kleintettau, Germany.
