{"id":34362,"date":"2026-06-11T07:26:27","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T07:26:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/34362\/"},"modified":"2026-06-11T07:26:27","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T07:26:27","slug":"safran-commits-57m-to-boost-defense-production-in-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/34362\/","title":{"rendered":"Safran Commits $57M to Boost Defense Production in Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/dronefront.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#13;<br \/>\n    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsAppVideo2026-05-15at09.23.58.gif\" alt=\"The Drone Front\" width=\"1280\" height=\"539\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Safran Electronics &amp; Defense is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.safran-group.com\/pressroom\/safran-chooses-ludwigsburg-germany-new-defense-equipment-facility-2026-06-09\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">investing<\/a> approximately 50 million euros ($57.7 million) to expand its manufacturing base in Germany.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The step builds on the French company\u2019s long-standing presence in the NATO country\u2019s defense equipment and technology sector.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The capital will be used to relocate Safran\u2019s operations from its current site in the municipality of Murr, Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, upgrading production capacity and sustainment works dedicated to fiber optic gyroscopes as well as position, navigation, and timing (PNT) devices supplied across armed forces users.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Located in the state\u2019s Ludwigsburg City, the new facility is expected to increase capabilities for portable optronic equipment assembly in support of military and commercial applications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Safran, the funding will create about 200 roles in the region, with positions to include production technicians, quality assurance managers, and administrative professionals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFor over 40 years, Safran Electronics &amp; Defense Germany has been equipping the German armed forces and defense industry with cutting-edge solutions, ranging from PNT to optronics and guidance,\u201d said Marzell Schiller, director of Safran Electronics &amp; Defense Germany.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis major investment in Ludwigsburg will create value and jobs to serve Germany\u2019s technological sovereignty.
