Following the announcement of their expanded collaboration in the
\n field of smart energy and home charging solutions on May
\n 18th this year, BMW and SOLARWATT are now presenting their
\n joint offering.<\/p>\n
For BMW, the integration of the vehicle into the home energy system
\n is a key component in the further development of electric mobility.
\n With the electric drive technology of the Neue Klasse, the electric
\n vehicle becomes an active part of the home energy network and thus
\n takes on a new role \u2013 going beyond mere mobility.<\/p>\n
It serves as an additional energy storage unit and is seamlessly
\n integrated into the SOLARWATT home energy management system (HEMS) \u2013
\n the SOLARWATT Manager \u2013 via the BMW Wallbox Professional.<\/p>\n
With the launch at The smarter E \/ Intersolar Europe 2026 from 23 to
\n 25 June 2026 at Messe M\u00fcnchen (Hall C5, Stand 640), BMW and SOLARWATT
\n are detailing the technical and commercial aspects of their offering,
\n scheduled for late 2026, for the German, Austrian and Dutch markets.
\n The exhibition is one of the world\u2019s leading trade fairs for the solar
\n industry and energy management.<\/p>\n
\n More than Vehicle-to-Home (V2H):\u00a0
HEMS integration
\n optimises energy flows throughout the entire home.\n<\/p>\n
With integration into SOLARWATT\u2019s home energy management system,
\n bidirectional charging with V2H becomes even more convenient and
\n efficient for customers. Whilst V2H already enables the use of energy
\n stored in the vehicle within the home via the BMW Wallbox
\n Professional, integration into the HEMS expands the overall system.<\/p>\n
The photovoltaic system (PV system), home battery, electric vehicle
\n and other consumers are intelligently coordinated and controlled as a
\n whole. The HEMS optimises all energy flows proactively and in line
\n with individual usage patterns.<\/p>\n
SOLARWATT offers such a HEMS via the SOLARWATT Manager. This
\n automatically controls when a stationary home storage system is
\n charged as a priority and when the electric vehicle is integrated as
\n additional storage.<\/p>\n
In addition, solar forecasts can be used to plan available energy
\n even more proactively. If there is insufficient solar power at times \u2013
\n for example during the winter months \u2013 dynamic electricity tariffs can
\n also be incorporated to charge the home storage system or vehicle
\n specifically during low-cost periods and subsequently supply the
\n household in a cost-optimised manner.<\/p>\n
This not only increases the self-consumption of solar power but also
\n significantly reduces the energy costs of the entire household \u2013
\n unlike Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G), the electricity is used within the
\n household and not fed back into the public grid.<\/p>\n
For customers, this means more self-generated solar power, less
\n manual control effort, and an energy system that operates
\n intelligently and automatically in the background as part of everyday
\n life. Another advantage is that the SOLARWATT Manager can be connected
\n to a wide range of components from various manufacturers, thereby
\n enhancing existing home installations\u2014including PV systems and home
\n storage units\u2014with intelligent, flexible energy management.<\/p>\n

\n Manager as prerequisites for the enhanced optimisation of the home
\n energy system\n<\/p>\n
The collaboration between BMW and SOLARWATT has resulted in a
\n solution that integrates seamlessly into existing home installations
\n whilst combining the strengths of both partners. The technical
\n requirements for HEMS integration with V2H are Neue Klasse vehicle
\n models, the bidirectional BMW Wallbox Professional, and the SOLARWATT
\n Manager as the HEMS.<\/p>\n
Homeowners can configure their settings via the My BMW App and the
\n SOLARWATT Home app. In the My BMW App, in addition to the current
\n vehicle and Wallbox settings, users can set a charging target and a
\n departure time, which are always prioritized.<\/p>\n
In the SOLARWATT Home app, customers can define household priorities
\n \u2013 for example, for appliances and storage systems. This ensures that
\n energy is distributed intelligently, reduces the need for manual
\n control, and makes the best possible use of solar power.<\/p>\n

The BMW Wallbox Professional can also be ordered via SOLARWATT \u2013
\n delivery is scheduled from Q4 2026. In existing installations, the
\n SOLARWATT Manager can also be retrofitted. Customers receive an
\n integrated package comprising various components, which is centrally
\n coordinated by SOLARWATT.<\/p>\n
At the same time, this package remains flexible, allowing individual
\n components to be combined as required. Furthermore, the offer will be
\n promoted via BMW\u2019s digital channels.<\/p>\n

\n home storage.\n<\/p>\n
The collaboration between BMW and SOLARWATT in the field of
\n electromobility has been in place since 2013. With the concrete
\n details of the offering now presented, both companies are expanding
\n this cooperation to include a further building block for a connected
\n home energy ecosystem. The experts from BMW and SOLARWATT look forward
