According to the company\u2019s statement, the acquisition is aimed at enhancing Accenture\u2019s ability to help manufacturers modernise product development, production and supply chain operations<\/a> through software, data and AI-enabled technologies.<\/p>\n

\u201cManufacturers are increasingly investing in software, data and AI to make engineering and factory operations more flexible, intelligent and connected. But many companies struggle to integrate these technologies across their products, factories, plants and supply chains. We will combine IndX\u2019s proven expertise in Siemens technologies with Accenture\u2019s AI capabilities and industry knowledge to solve this challenge for clients faster,\u201d said Tracey Countryman, global supply chain and engineering lead at Accenture.<\/p>\n

IndX serves clients across aerospace and defence, automotive, consumer goods, energy, high-tech, industrial equipment, life sciences and utilities sectors. It has more than 650 professionals based in Italy, the US, India, Germany, other European countries and Mexico.<\/p>\n

Following the acquisition’s completion, IndX\u2019s team and capabilities are expected to support the growth of the Accenture Siemens Business Group, a dedicated global business practice formed last year that combines industrial technology with AI-enabled engineering<\/a> and manufacturing capabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cTogether with Siemens, we develop industrial AI-enabled solutions that shorten engineering time to market, increase manufacturing efficiencies and strengthen the digital core for our clients. IndX will strengthen the Accenture Siemens Business Group and help deliver on Accenture and Siemens\u2019 shared ambition to scale these AI solutions,\u201d said Vivek Kaushik, global lead of Accenture Siemens Business Group at Accenture.<\/p>\n

Accenture said it also plans to establish two new Centres of Excellence<\/a> for Siemens Digital Industries solutions in Italy and India after the acquisition is completed.<\/p>\n

The centres will focus on industrial software and digital technologies to help clients improve product design, factory operations, and supply chain management through AI and digital engineering capabilities.<\/p>\n

Accenture said it will integrate IndX\u2019s assets and services for other technologies into its respective business units. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Completion of the acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions.<\/p>\n

Headquartered in Rome and Chicago, IndX specialises in software solutions for discrete and process manufacturers from Siemens. The company focuses on implementing digital thread solutions<\/a> that connect engineering, manufacturing and automation across IT and operational technology environments, including product lifecycle management, simulation, digital twins, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), industrial edge computing and cloud computing <\/p>\n
