{"id":39150,"date":"2026-06-18T15:31:10","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T15:31:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/39150\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T15:31:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T15:31:10","slug":"germany-clinches-more-us-lng-as-venture-global-and-enbw-pen-multi-year-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/39150\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany clinches more US LNG as Venture Global and EnBW pen multi-year deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Venture Global, an American producer of liquefied natural gas (LNG) sourced from North American basins, has signed on the dotted line with EnBW Energie Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg (EnBW), a German energy player, to send additional long-term U.S. LNG supply to Germany, aside from the volumes included in the duo\u2019s existing two-decade-long arrangement.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"746\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Plaquemines-LNG-Courtesy-of-Venture-Global-LNG.jpg\" alt=\"Plaquemines LNG; Courtesy of Venture Global LNG\" class=\"wp-image-728130\"  \/>Plaquemines LNG; Courtesy of Venture Global LNG<\/p>\n<p>Venture Global and EnBW have executed binding agreements for the purchase of approximately 0.82 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of U.S. LNG for around five years, starting in 2026, to be supplied from the American player\u2019s asset portfolio.<\/p>\n<p>The new agreements add to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.offshore-energy.biz\/plaquemines-plants-first-lng-shipment-on-its-way-to-germany\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">existing<\/a> long-term sales and purchase agreements (SPAs) between the two companies for 2 mtpa over 20 years. Venture Global has over 100 mtpa of capacity in production, construction, or development.<\/p>\n<p>The company, which began producing LNG from its first facility in 2022, has a vertically integrated business covering assets across the LNG supply chain, including LNG production, natural gas transport, shipping and regasification.<\/p>\n<p>Mike Sabel, Venture Global\u2019s CEO, commented: \u201cAs one of Germany\u2019s top LNG suppliers, Venture Global is proud to strengthen our partnership with EnBW and support the region\u2019s energy security with a reliable supply of LNG.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe new mid-term agreements build on our strong, long-standing relationship with EnBW and reflects our commitment to meeting our customers\u2019 evolving energy needs. Our dynamic marketing platform uniquely positions us to provide supply solutions across the short, medium, and long term.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Venture Global\u2019s first three projects, Calcasieu Pass, Plaquemines LNG, and CP2 LNG, are located in Louisiana along the Gulf of America (U.S. Gulf of Mexico).
