A Bosch motor and sleek lines: A new electric bike is designed to offer more or less effortless mobility, especially in urban areas. The new Curb from Gazelle features a rather unobtrusive motor.<\/p>\n

We’ve already covered Bosch\u2019s Hub Line motor<\/a>. As a hub motor, it comes with both advantages and drawbacks compared to mid-drive systems. One clear benefit is its typically unobtrusive design, which integrates neatly into the bike. The Gazelle Curb<\/a> is a new e-bike, with at least one variant already listed by a retailer at a price of \u20ac2,399. Availability is not expected until mid-October, effectively making it a 2027 model. These details currently refer to the German market; specifications may vary for other regions, and a potential US version could differ in terms of motor output and maximum assisted speed. <\/p>\n

The hub motor delivers up to 45 Nm of torque and draws power from a 360 Wh battery fully integrated into the frame. As a result, the battery cannot be easily replaced in the event of a defect. Charging may also be somewhat inconvenient – for example, in shared bike storage areas – since the entire bike needs to be positioned near a power outlet. The Gazelle Curb T9 comes with front and rear fenders but does not include a rack. A frame lock is provided as standard and can be paired with an optional insert chain. While the frame lock alone offers only limited protection against ride-away theft, combining it with the insert chain also prevents the bike from being carried off. <\/p>\n

The bike does not feature a suspension fork. It relies on hydraulic Shimano MT200 disc brakes at both the front and rear, which should provide strong and controllable braking performance. It is equipped with a 10-speed Shimano Cues derailleur, CST tires, and a rear kickstand.<\/p>\n
