The company presented two Porsche 718 models and spotlighted its Sport Maxx Race 2 original-equipment (OE) tire.<\/p>\n<p>Rare Shades celebrates rare Porsche factory hues, Paint to Sample colors and uniquely specified vehicles. The New York City edition brought together a curated collection of Porsche sports cars in a gallery-style setting. It attracted owners, collectors, media and enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<p>Sport Maxx Race 2 Takes OE Focus<\/p>\n<p>Dunlop\u2019s presence centered on two Porsche 718 models and the Dunlop Sport Maxx Race 2. Dunlop engineers the ultra-high-performance tire for road and track use.<\/p>\n<p>The Sport Maxx Race 2 serves as OE on several Porsche performance models. They include the 718 Cayman GT4, 718 Cayman GT4 RS, 718 Spyder and 911 GT2 RS.<\/p>\n<p>The tire supports high-performance chassis dynamics, precise steering response and consistent grip under demanding conditions, Dunlop said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRare Shades brings together the type of enthusiast community that understands the details behind performance,\u201d said David Velasquez, lead of motorsports &amp; events, Dunlop Tires North America, Inc. \u201cFor Dunlop, this was a great opportunity to showcase vehicles that connect directly to our OE performance tire story. The Sport Maxx Race 2 was developed for some of Porsche\u2019s most capable road and track-focused models, and events like Rare Shades allow us to speak to that level of engineering in an environment built around passion, precision, and authenticity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Featured<\/p>\n<p>The display featured a 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 finished in Paint to Sample Ultraviolet. The GT4 has a 4.0-liter flat-six engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. It also included Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and Sonderwunsch details.<\/p>\n<p>Those details included matching Ultraviolet dashboard and center console trim pieces, extended leather, silver deviated stitching and silver gray seat belts.<\/p>\n<p>Porsche produced 653 718 GT4 units for 2022, finishing only 34 in Paint to Sample colors. This example is one of three PTS Ultraviolet 718 GT4 models produced for North America.<\/p>\n<p>Porsche 718 GT4 RS Also Displayed<\/p>\n<p>Dunlop also featured a Shark Blue Porsche 718 GT4 RS in collaboration with Formula Motorsports NYC. The GT4 RS features aggressive aerodynamic elements, lightweight construction and high-revving performance.<\/p>\n<p>Inside, the vehicle included a Silver Rocket dry carbon harness bar system for lightweight structural integration and harness mounting.<\/p>\n<p>Dunlop Connects With Porsche Enthusiasts<\/p>\n<p>Rare Shades 7 gave Dunlop Tires North America an opportunity to connect with Porsche owners and enthusiasts.
