Aldi has revealed a price freeze that will stay in effect for several months. The initiative is designed to support millions of customers across the country as they grapple with cost-of-living pressures.<\/p>\n
The discount retailer today (Tuesday, June 23) confirmed it is prolonging its baby formula price freeze through to the end of 2026. The shop states the freeze could help parents save as much as \u00a35 when compared with the typical price at other retailers.<\/p>\n
Britain’s largest discounter will maintain the price of its Mamia First Infant Milk at \u00a36.99 for the remainder of 2026. This follows the supermarket’s decision to extend its earlier pledge to hold the price until summer 2026. The \u00a36.99 pricing has been in place since June 2025.<\/p>\n
Research by The Grocer<\/a> revealed that the pre-promotional cost of 157 baby formula products available in leading supermarkets increased by an average of 9.4% during the opening two months of 2026. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has also calculated that households could save over \u00a3300<\/a> annually by switching to more affordable formula products, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: “Household budgets remain under pressure, and some infant formula brands are increasing prices. That’s why we’re extending our Mamia First Infant Milk price freeze until the end of 2026.<\/p>\n “We know that every penny counts for parents, particularly during those early years, which is why we’re committed to keeping this essential product accessible and affordable.” Regulations in the UK ensure that all infant formula products meet babies’ nutritional requirements, regardless of brand or cost.<\/p>\n Aldi states its Mamia Stage 1 First Infant Milk is “suitable from birth” and “suitable for combination and bottle-fed babies”. Though, it must not be kept in the fridge.<\/p>\n The announcement represents the latest measure by Aldi to support parents. Earlier this year, the supermarket revived its Mamia New Parent Fund, providing \u00a3100 Aldi vouchers weekly for a year to help parents cover the cost of daily essentials after the arrival of a new baby.<\/p>\n Parents can apply by emailing mamiaparentfund@aldi. co. uk with a receipt showing their latest Mamia nappy purchase.
