Preliminary results show total sales of 71,400 vehicles, down from 85,300 during the same period last year. For the first nine months of 2025, Traton said unit sales decreased by 9% to 224,500 vehicles.

Unit Sales Overview

Traton Group (total)

Q3 2025: 71,400 (-16%)

Q3 2024: 85,300

9M 2025: 224,500 (-9%)

9M 2024: 245,400

All-electric vehicles (EVs)

Q3 2025: 820 (+55%)

Q3 2024: 530

9M 2025: 2,070 (+83%)

9M 2024: 1,130

Scania Vehicles & Services

Traton said Scania delivered 21,500 vehicles in Q3 2025, nearly flat compared to 21,800 the previous year (-1%). For the first nine months of 2025, sales declined 8% to 68,400 units.

All-electric Scania vehicle deliveries nearly doubled, with 160 units sold in Q3 (up 99%) and 380 for the year to date (up 101%). European sales remained strong thanks to prior high order volumes, though Brazilian sales declined amid rising interest rates, inflation, and elevated inventory levels.

MAN Truck & Bus

MAN Truck & Bus increased sales by 24% in Q3 2025 to 24,600 units, up from 19,900 in the same quarter last year, the company reported. Year to date (YTD) sales rose 4% to 71,700 units.

All-electric MAN sales grew sharply, with 290 vehicles delivered in Q3 (up 96%) and 1,090 YTD (up 184%). Growth was supported by strong bus and van sales, despite weakness in the broader European market.

International Motors

International Motors reported a significant 57% drop in Q3 2025 sales to 13,400 units, down from 31,500 the year prior. YTD sales fell 28% to 48,000 vehicles.

All-electric sales increased modestly to 360 units in Q3 (up 26%) and 540 YTD (up 17%). The U.S. market continues to face headwinds from tariff uncertainty and a prolonged freight recession.

Volkswagen Truck & Bus (VWTB)

Volkswagen Truck & Bus recorded 11,900 units sold in Q3 2025, down 4% from 12,400 the prior year. For the first nine months of 2025, sales rose 3% to 36,700 vehicles.

All-electric deliveries were limited to 10 units in Q3 (down 43%) and 60 YTD (down 42%). While the Brazilian market softened, other South American markets offset the decline with steady growth, according to Traton.

Overall Market Context

While total unit sales decreased across the Traton Group, the company noted that EV growth remained a key highlight. Combined all-electric sales rose 55% in Q3 and 83% through the first nine months of 2025. The contrasting performance across brands reflects broader regional disparities—strong European truck demand and continued challenges in the Americas.

The Traton Group reported a 16% decline in unit sales for Q3 2025.
