Bosch: Start of Watch<\/a>\u00a0just hit a major milestone, and fans won’t have to wait much longer. A key cast member revealed fresh details about the\u00a0prequel series’\u00a0production status and its upcoming\u00a0MGM+\u00a0debut.<\/p>\n

Bosch: Start of Watch gets major release date update<\/p>\n

Ryan McPartlin confirmed that Season 1 of Bosch: Start of Watch has officially wrapped filming. The actor shared the news on Instagram<\/a>, expressing gratitude for the Los Angeles cast and crew. He also thanked the LAPD Southeastern Division for allowing him to shadow officers for research.<\/p>\n

McPartlin plays Detective Mike Garner in the upcoming MGM+ prequel series. He described the character as “another awesome character to bring to life” in his post. The actor teased fans by writing, “See you soon on MGM+,” hinting at an approaching premiere.<\/p>\n

Amazon MGM Studios first announced the series on October 15, 2025, as a prequel to the original Bosch franchise. The show follows a 26-year-old Harry Bosch during his earliest days as a rookie cop. Cameron Monaghan leads the cast as the young version of the iconic detective.<\/p>\n

Set in 1991 Los Angeles, the series explores a city rife with racial tension and gang violence. Bosch finds himself drawn into a high-profile heist and criminal corruption during his time on patrol. The story will shape his future as the detective who believes “everybody counts or nobody counts.”<\/p>\n

Omari Hardwick co-stars as Eli Bridges, Bosch’s veteran training officer in the show. Additional cast members include JD Pardo, Ariana Guerra, William Fichtner, and Azita Ghanizada. Tom Bernardo and Brian Anthony co-created the series, with Bernardo serving as showrunner.<\/p>\n

Michael Connelly, the bestselling author behind the Bosch book series, also executive produces the project. The show is scheduled to air on MGM+ in 2026, though an exact premiere date remains unannounced.<\/p>\n
