Instead, production is headed to Hungary, where Mercedes is expanding what will soon become its largest manufacturing hub in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>For a smaller, more affordable model, keeping costs in check is crucial. Lower labour costs in Hungary make it a sensible choice, especially for a vehicle expected to sit below the flagship G-Wagon in both size and price.<\/p>\n<p>Initially planned as a fully electric off-roader, Mercedes has reportedly changed course. The baby G will now include hybrid variants alongside the EV, widening its appeal across different markets.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-47347\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Mercedes-G-Class-Electric-2.jpg\" alt=\"Mercedes G-Class Electric\" width=\"1014\" height=\"571\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The all-electric version is expected to feature an 85 kWh battery pack and dual motors, targeting a driving range of up to 450 miles. While power figures remain under wraps, performance should be strong enough to carry the G-Class DNA forward.<\/p>\n<p>On the hybrid side, the setup could borrow from the latest CLA\u2014pairing a 1.5-litre engine with electric assistance to produce around 208 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque, possibly more for the baby G-Class.<\/p>\n<p>Reports say that a debut could happen as early as July 13.
