Swiss green coffee trader Sucafina<\/a> said Hamburg, Germany-based specialty green coffee importer Rehm & Co.<\/a> has joined the Sucafina Group, expanding the group\u2019s presence in Germany and the broader European specialty market.<\/p>\n

Sucafina described the deal as a \u201cpartnership,\u201d saying Rehm will continue operating from Hamburg under its existing name with its current staff. The companies have not disclosed whether the transaction involved an equity acquisition, asset purchase or other changes to Rehm ownership.<\/p>\n

Rehm & Co. has operated as the specialty coffee brand of Benecke Coffee GmbH & Co. KG<\/a>, a Hamburg green coffee importer founded in 1995.<\/p>\n

The announcement follows the January 2026 opening of Sucafina Germany<\/a>, the company\u2019s first full trading office in the country. The Bremen office is led by Bastian F\u00fclles and Tobias Schwind.<\/p>\n

Sucafina said Sucafina Germany will continue serving the commercial green coffee market, while Rehm brings additional specialty sourcing expertise and customer relationships.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cJoining the Sucafina Group brings together the specialty expertise and personal service our customers know with the strength of a global network,\u201d Claudia Fries of Rehm & Co. said in the announcement. \u201cTogether, we can create even more opportunities for roasters while staying true to what defines us.\u201d<\/p>\n

The move comes amid a period of market-by-market expansion for Sucafina, founded in 1977 in Geneva with a family commodities history stretching to 1905. The company currently lists more than 1,500 employees in 42 countries.<\/p>\n

Since 2020, the company has invested in new operations or entities in coffee-producing countries, including Indonesia<\/a>, China<\/a> and Guatemala<\/a>. The company has also expanded through deals involving smaller trading companies in key consumer markets, including the 2023 acquisition of Sustainable Harvest Coffee Importers<\/a> in the United States and a majority-interest acquisition of Complete Coffee<\/a> in the UK in 2021.<\/p>\n
