{"id":50571,"date":"2026-07-08T08:40:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-08T08:40:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/50571\/"},"modified":"2026-07-08T08:40:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-08T08:40:09","slug":"byd-challenges-porsches-911-with-launch-of-electric-supercar-in-europe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/50571\/","title":{"rendered":"BYD challenges Porsche\u2019s 911 with launch of electric supercar in Europe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/business\/china-business\/article\/3359287\/chinas-byd-surpasses-tesla-regain-lead-global-ev-race?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Chinese electric vehicle (EV) assembler BYD<\/a> has set its sights on Porsche\u2019s supercars with plans to sell its Denza-branded new models in developed markets, the latest sign of its increasing heft in designing and manufacturing premium vehicles.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The Shenzhen-based carmaker planned to unveil the Denza Z sports car featuring BYD\u2019s self-developed intelligent DiSus body control \u00adsystem at the UK\u2019s Goodwood Festival of Speed on Thursday, it announced in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The European debut of the sports car, which aims to take on Porsche\u2019s 911, is part of BYD\u2019s efforts to <a target=\"_self\" class=\"e1yy41x40 ef9u0v01 css-1ankfgb ecgc78b0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/business\/china-business\/article\/3341156\/chinese-carmaker-byd-chases-24-export-growth-new-models-more-showrooms-abroad?module=inline&amp;pgtype=article\" title=\"\" data-qa=\"BaseLink-renderAnchor-StyledAnchor\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">spur sales outside mainland China<\/a> by launching more models and expanding its distribution network.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cA vehicle to lure international consumers away from global marques like Porsche can help BYD convince more overseas drivers of its quality and reliability,\u201d said Eric Han, a senior \u00admanager at Shanghai consultancy Suolei. \u201cThe energy crisis due to the war in Iran is providing Chinese EV makers with a catalyst for international expansion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">BYD claims its DiSus system can keep passengers firmly in place during high-speed \u00adcornering and prevents the \u00advehicle from rolling over.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The two-door Denza Z is fitted with BYD\u2019s blade battery packs, which are arranged in an array to increase energy density and resistance to overheating.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"BYD is taking aim at the Porsche 911 Turbo S, presented here during a media preview ahead of the IAA Munich auto show in Germany on September 7, 2025.
