Adidas and WNBA<\/a> star and Indiana Fever<\/a> guard Sophie Cunningham<\/a> are combining forces for a new sneaker set to release this month.<\/p>\n

The Adidas Crazy Energy \u201cSophie Cunningham\u201d PE colorway will release on July 24<\/a> and will cost $120, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Cunningham confirmed the sneaker by sharing one of the reports about it on her Instagram story<\/a> on Friday.<\/p>\n

The new footwear is mostly pink and white.<\/p>\n

A smart move by Adidas<\/p>\n

Adidas attaching itself to Cunningham in any way is a smart move, as she has garnered a huge following since last year and sales for the new sneaker should do well as a result.<\/p>\n

Cunningham\u2019s popularity exploded in 2025<\/a> when she defended her teammate, Fever superstar guard Caitlin Clark, by committing a hard foul<\/a> on a Connecticut Sun player following multiple cheap shots from Sun players on Clark in the same game.<\/p>\n

After that went down, Cunningham instantly became a darling with Clark\u2019s massive fan base and gained millions of followers as a result. <\/p>\n

Cunningham has jokingly been referred to as Clark\u2019s bodyguard.<\/p>\n

Cunningham has also not minced words about the perceived poor treatment<\/a> of Clark from WNBA players and the league\u2019s failure to protect its biggest star, which has only made her more popular with Clark\u2019s supporters.<\/p>\n

She once again voiced her displeasure with both parties after Clark was once again the victim of a cheap shot from Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas.<\/p>\n

Cunningham\u2019s knack for going viral was on full display once again last month, when she got into a dust-up with Mercury guard DeWanna Bonner, which led to Cunningham hilariously pointing at Bonner for over 20 seconds<\/a>, which instantly became an internet sensation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cunningham re-upped with the Fever on a one-year deal during the offseason.<\/p>\n

The Missouri product wasn\u2019t totally thrilled with her contract<\/a>, though, as she was seeking a multi-year pact from the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so grateful. I know I\u2019m coming off a pretty big knee injury, and so it was never about the money. It was just about the years, because I wanted to be with them,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Going into the Fever\u2019s contest on Sunday night against the Las Vegas Aces, Indiana sports a 13-9 record and is sitting in the No. 7 playoff spot.<\/p>\n
