(WCTV) &#8211; Over a month after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/05\/27\/aldi-quincy-remain-closed-until-deemed-safe-after-heavy-rain-causes-mudslide-over-weekend\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/05\/27\/aldi-quincy-remain-closed-until-deemed-safe-after-heavy-rain-causes-mudslide-over-weekend\/\">mudslide damaged the Aldi <\/a>shopping plaza in Quincy, the store is still closed, according to the city commission.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The mudslide, caused by heavy rainfall in May, significantly damaged the slope at the rear of the property. City of Quincy Utilities Department was forced to cut off and cap the main water line that serves Aldi. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Since then, Aldi has remained closed. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text text-center\">More news out of the Big Bend: <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">At Tuesday\u2019s meeting, commissioners started the process to request federal funding to help fix the property. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The funding, which is in the form of a competitive matching grant, requires a letter of request.
