The Berlin showcase will cover rolling stock, signalling, software, maintenance and passenger applications.

Vectron X adds an open software layer to the established locomotive family. Its central Smart Screen will bring operational data, route information and customer, operator and third-party applications into one interface, while an onboard app marketplace and open APIs will support additional functions. Railigent X will also enable remote software updates over the locomotive’s lifecycle.

Don’t miss…North Carolina multimodal freight plan seeks input

Siemens first presented the digitalised locomotive at its Munich-Allach service centre in June. Operators need more capacity, availability, and a better passenger experience while making the most of existing infrastructure. That’s exactly what Siemens Xcelerator is designed to deliver. At InnoTrans 2022, we committed to building a connected, open, and future-ready mobility ecosystem. Today, that vision has become reality. Our Siemens Xcelerator portfolio demonstrates how open APIs, standardized data, and connected platforms are turning digital innovation into measurable customer value at scale. With Vectron X, we are now bringing this open platform and software-defined approach to rolling stock,” said Michael Peter, CEO of Siemens Mobility.

Vectron X at InnoTrans 2026 adds AI and maintenance

Siemens plans to demonstrate AI-supported traffic management, predictive maintenance, passenger information and infrastructure diagnostics. Its Signaling X portfolio will include Smart Object Controllers and the DS3 safety platform, which runs signalling applications on commercial off-the-shelf hardware.

Railigent X will show how train and infrastructure data can support condition monitoring, remote diagnostics and failure prediction. The company will also present automated vehicle inspection, over-the-air updates, S3 Passenger Revenue Management and the Train Planning System Suite. A new cloud-based yard-management application, TPS.yardoptimizer, will make its exhibition debut.

The outdoor display will include Vectron X, other cross-border Vectron locomotives, ÖBB’s Mireo, the battery-electric Mireo Plus B and the Inspiro train for London’s Piccadilly line. InnoTrans 2026 runs in Berlin from 22 to 25 September.

News on railway transport, industry, and railway technologies from Railway Supply that you might have missed:

Vectron X at InnoTrans 2026 will extend Siemens Mobility’s Xcelerator platform into rolling stock, combining locomotive hardware with…

[21002
26500,26501,44662,6487,22225
post-56385","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-siemens","tag-innotrans-2026","tag-railway-exhibitions","tag-railway-technologies","tag-siemens","tag-siemens-mobility
["GET
