<\/a>PEARL, Miss. \u2014<\/p>\nSiemens Energy broke ground Friday on a $300 million factory in Pearl.<\/p>\n
The facility will manufacture high-voltage switchgear, create up to 300 jobs, and expand the company\u2019s manufacturing capacity for critical grid technologies.<\/p>\n
“As the United States’ electrical grid becomes more dynamic and complex, the equipment that we produce here in Mississippi is crucial for safe and reliable energy delivery,” said Tim Holt, member of the executive board for Siemens Energy. “Our increased investment in Mississippi will strengthen the U.S. supply chain and help meet the nation\u2019s grid needs.”<\/p>\n
High-voltage switchgear acts as a safety mechanism for the electricity grid, protecting equipment, preventing blackouts, and maintaining grid stability. As power grids modernize and integrate new energy sources, Siemens Energy’s products help ensure reliability. <\/p>\n
The Pearl campus will also include a state-of-the-art training center, part of Siemens Energy’s commitment to workforce development and preparing for advancements in the AI era. <\/p>\n

Tate Reeves. “Siemens Energy\u2019s new facility in Rankin County will help strengthen our nation\u2019s power grid while creating hundreds of good jobs for Mississippians. In Mississippi, we make stuff, and companies from around the world continue to invest here because our people know how to get the job done. This is another important win for Mississippi and America.” <\/p>\n
Siemens Energy has been manufacturing in Mississippi since 1973 and operates another factory in Richland that also produces high-voltage switchgear.
