SEOUL, July 22 (Reuters) – South Korean President Lee Jae Myung will visit \u200cSan Francisco, Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Germany from \u200cJuly 24 to August 3, the presidential office said on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
Lee will \u200bhold separate summits with the leaders of Brazil, Chile and Argentina and attend an AI summit in San Francisco, National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac said in a press briefing. <\/p>\n
The \u200cpresidential office said Lee \u2060is also scheduled to meet Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic \u2060CEO Dario Amodei, while Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and Hyundai Motor Executive Chair \u200bEuisun Chung \u200bwill also attend the \u200bAI summit. <\/p>\n
South Korea is eyeing \u200can expansion of trade and business in South America, Wi said, seeking fresh negotiations for the South Korean-Mercosur trade agreement as well as modernisation of a free trade agreement with Chile. <\/p>\n
Seoul is also aiming to enhance cooperation in \u200cenergy and food, Wi said, \u200bciting abundant reserves of critical minerals \u200bin the region. <\/p>\n
In San \u200bFrancisco, Lee will meet with executives of \u200csix top venture capital firms, \u200bincluding Andreessen Horowitz, \u200bGeneral Catalyst and Sequoia Capital. <\/p>\n
He will attend an MOU ceremony between South Korea’s National Pension Service and the \u200bventure capital \u200cfirms for long-term partnership, and then attend a roundtable, \u200bthe presidential office said. <\/p>\n
