Dara Sosulski has joined Deutsche Bank as head of AI for its corporate bank and investment bank (CB IB)\u2019s operations and controls division.<\/p>\n
In her new role, Sosulski will help accelerate how the CB IB\u2019s operations and controls team use AI to strengthen the team\u2019s capabilities, enhance the way the team works and create greater value for its clients.<\/p>\n
As part of the operations and controls team, Sosulski will support the front office\u2019s operations, but not be part of a customer-facing team herself. <\/p>\n
Sosulski joins Deutsche Bank from HSBC, where she spent over a decade in various data science and model management roles. <\/p>\n
Most recently, Sosulski served as the bank\u2019s head of AI and model management across its markets and securities services division for over three years. In this role, she built a global team of 30 data scientists, software developers, and risk managers to deliver new AI solutions, according to her LinkedIn.<\/p>\n
At the start of her time at HSBC, Sosulski pioneered its first standards for fraud risk and financial intelligence model risk management, helping to minimise its fraud losses.<\/p>\n
Deutsche Bank, Germany\u2019s largest financial institution, has largely been bullish on AI in the sector. In June, the chief information officer of its investment bank, Denis Roux, told Reuters that the technology has cut projects that used to take two years down to three to six months, adding that \u201cwe know the productivity is there\u201d. <\/p>\n
