A new Aldi<\/a> chocolate block is being compared to Cadbury<\/a>, as shoppers point out a similar taste<\/a> for a fraction of the price.<\/p>\n

The German supermarket chain<\/a> released its Dairy Fine range at a price of $2.49, available in Cherry Jelly Pop and Rainbow Crunch.<\/p>\n

The Cherry Jelly Pop features cherry lollies, Smarties and popping candy, and snack reviewer<\/a> Emily said for “the quarter of the price” of Cadbury’s Marvellous Creations, it was “great”.<\/p>\n

Cadbury’s Marvellous Creations block typically retails for $8, but it’s currently on sale at Coles<\/a> for $4.80 and Big W<\/a> for just $4.<\/p>\n

“I always enjoy finding Aldi dupes because it’s fun to see how they compare to the originals,” Emily told Yahoo Lifestyle.<\/p>\n

“Some are a hit, and some are definitely a miss, but I think they did a great job with these Curious Inventions blocks \u2014 and hopefully they expand the range in the future.”<\/p>\n

Emily’s take on the Aldi chocolate<\/p>\n

Emily said she loved the popping candy effect web on the Cherry Jelly Pop block and described the milk chocolate as “really nice”.<\/p>\n

“The only thing I am not getting is really any cherry flavour, and it does say that it’s meant to have cherry lollies in there,” she said in her review.<\/p>\n

“So if you hate cherries, you’ll probably still like this.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, she compared the Rainbow to the Smarties chocolate block, saying the only difference was that the chocolate on the Aldi version was thinner.<\/p>\n

It’s no surprise that the Aldi block has had such a strong grasp on shoppers, with consumer group Choice<\/a> rating its Aldi Dairy Fine Milk Chocolate at least 70 per cent.<\/p>\n

Choice said this proved that people didn’t have to fork out a stack of cash to enjoy a good choccy block.<\/p>\n

Emily wasn’t the only one to rate the chocolate bars from Aldi.<\/p>\n

“Got the Cherry Jelly Pop today. I like it. A lot like Marvellous Creations,” said one.<\/p>\n

“I bought both of these the other day. It tastes quite similar to Cadbury Marvellous Creations. I like them,” said another.<\/p>\n

“Yes, delicious. Ate the whole block in one sitting,” said a third.<\/p>\n
