F\u00e1tima Bosch, a native of Tabasco, qualified for the <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2025\/11\/20\/style\/miss-universe-2025-finale-winner-intl-hnk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\u201cSuper Bowl\u201d of beauty pageants<\/a> by winning Miss Universe Mexico in September 2025, and was then crowned with the South Sea pearl-adorned \u201cLumi\u00e8re de l\u2019Infini\u201d tiara as the 74th Miss Universe in Bangkok, Thailand, in November of last year, beating out Thai runner-up Praveenar Singh after a highly publicized bullying episode by a pageant offcial.<\/p>\n<p>Bosch\u2019s reign won\u2019t officially come to an end until Nov. 26, 2026, when she crowns her successor in San Juan, Puerto Rico. But in the meantime, she\u2019s helping to publicize this year\u2019s Miss Universe Mexico, the competition from which the next national contender will emerge. Los Cabos will be the official site of the Aug. 29 event, Bosch recently announced on the Mexican morning television show, \u201cSale el Sol,\u201d with Coraz\u00f3n Cabo Resort &amp; Spa on Playa El M\u00e9dano in Cabo San Lucas named as the host.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Miss Universe Mexico and other upcoming events in Cabo San Lucas\u00a0<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-750348 size-full perfmatters-lazy\" alt=\"Miss Universe in Los Cabos to announce that the destination will host Miss Universe Mexico in 2026\" width=\"850\" height=\"951\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Instagram-1.jpg\"  data-\/>Bosch was recently in Los Cabos to unveil the destination as the host of the 2026 Miss Universe Mexico beauty pageant. (F\u00e1tima Bosch\/Instagram)<\/p>\n<p>Cape cities San Jos\u00e9 del Cabo and <a href=\"https:\/\/mexiconewsdaily.com\/politics\/mnd-local-should-cabo-san-lucas-become-an-autonomous-municipality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Cabo San Lucas<\/a> each crown pageant queens at their annual fiestas tradicionales. But Miss Universe Mexico brings a national spotlight to the region, and to Baja California Sur\u2019s contestant this year: Selene Zazueta of La Paz, who also represented the state at the Mexicana Universal pageant in 2023. That, incidentally, was the last Mexicana Universal to act as a qualifier for Miss Universe, as a new organization \u2014 Miss Universe Mexico, backed by <a href=\"https:\/\/mexiconewsdaily.com\/news\/arrest-warrant-miss-universe-co-owner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ra\u00fal Rocha Cant\u00fa<\/a> \u2014 was subsequently recognized.<\/p>\n<p>Contestants representing all 32 states are expected to begin arriving in Los Cabos in mid-August for filming and promotional shoots, as well as a preliminary competition featuring interviews and swimwear and evening gown assessments, before the actual event is broadcast live on Aug. 29. For those unable to attend, Mexico\u2019s Imagen Televisi\u00f3n has the broadcast rights.<\/p>\n<p>Miss Universe Mexico will cap a busy month \u2014 especially by \u201clow season\u201d standards in Los Cabos \u2014 as it follows closely on the heels of two other high-profile events: the 10th anniversary edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/mexiconewsdaily.com\/lifestyle\/mnd-local-is-cabo-san-lucas-finally-ridding-itself-of-the-gray-ghost-plus-fallout-from-the-hit-and-run-accident-that-injured-17-people\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">ATP 250 Los Cabos Tennis Open<\/a>, which is taking place July 25 to Aug. 1; and the Bisbee\u2019s East Cape Offshore (ECO), the first of three annual Bisbee\u2019s sponsored fishing tournaments in Los Cabos featuring million dollar plus prize pools, with the most lucrative of these, the Black and Blue and Los Cabos Offshore, following in October.<\/p>\n<p>The ECO is a <a href=\"https:\/\/mexiconewsdaily.com\/sports\/mnd-local-summer-fishing-tournaments-around-the-baja-california-peninsula\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">major event in its own right<\/a>, however. The 2026 edition is scheduled for this week, July 28 to Aug. 1 in Buenavista, with the tournament aiming to top last year\u2019s prize pool of US $1.52 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The next resort to open in Los Cabos<\/p>\n<p>By the time the Los Cabos Tennis Open and Bisbee\u2019s East Cape Offshore wrap up, a new resort will also have opened in Los Cabos. That\u2019s Amanvari from Aman, an ultra-luxury brand noted for its intimate and exclusive accommodations in gorgeous natural settings. Amanvari, which officially opens Aug. 1, qualifies on all counts, with only 18 casitas \u2014 each with a private heated pool \u2014 available at Costa Palmas, the La Ribera-based development that\u2019s also home to the East Cape\u2019s other luxury option: Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mexiconewsdaily.com\/register\/?level_id=8\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-678909 perfmatters-lazy\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Banner-728x90px-1.png\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the first Aman property ever to open in Mexico, and at US $3,000 per night and up, immediately slots in among the very top tier of local ultra-luxury resorts. Restaurants specializing in Mexican, Italian and Japanese cuisine will offer first-class dining experiences, while the on-site spa specializes in Mexico\u2019s traditional sweat lodge-style temezcal therapies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-750351 size-full perfmatters-lazy\" alt=\"Amanvari is the latest luxury resort to open in Los Cabos\" width=\"850\" height=\"525\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/Amanvari.jpg\"  data-\/>Amanvari opens this week, offering exclusive resort accommodations on Los Cabos\u2019 East Cape. (Aman Resorts)<br \/>\nOther scheduled resort openings in 2026<\/p>\n<p>When the St. Regis Los Cabos at Quivira was first announced in 2017, the estimated open date for the resort and residences project was early 2021. After the many delays that have followed, any forecasts at this point \u2014 such as the late 2026 timeline offered by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/los-cabos-enters-a-new-era-of-luxury-with-major-hospitality-wellness-and-golf-developments-302824285.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Los Cabos Tourism Board<\/a> \u2014 must be taken with several grains of salt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Soho House Los Cabos, the brand\u2019s second private club-style resort in Mexico following the opening of a property in Mexico City in 2023, is still expected to open by November in Cabo del Sol, with 15 available accommodations (in 12 casas and 3 casonas), plus on-site residences, a 50-meter swimming pool, spa, seafood restaurant and beach club. Soho Club also boasts a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sohohouse.com\/en-us\/house-notes\/issue-006\/house-tips\/inside-our-second-house-in-mexico-soho-house-los-cabos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">200-meter private beach<\/a>,\u201d although this is a misnomer, since all beaches in Mexico are, by law, public.<\/p>\n<p>The 301-room resort Grand Hyatt Los Cabos, Golf and Spa at Oleada on the Pacific Coast of Cabo San Lucas, meanwhile, is also estimating a late 2026 opening (in December), by which time the development\u2019s new golf course will also be playable.<\/p>\n<p>The next golf course to open in Los Cabos<\/p>\n<p>The Ernie Els-designed Oleada Golf Links has opened for preview play and remains on track to officially premiere in November. It\u2019s the first course in Mexico for \u201cThe Big Easy,\u201d a four-time major champion who has now designed over a dozen worldwide, and according to him, easily the<a href=\"https:\/\/golf.com\/travel\/ernie-els-oleada-first-mexico-course\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> best natural site<\/a> he has had to work with.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mario Navarro, a Ciudad Ju\u00e1rez native who played collegiately at the University of Texas El Paso and who has worked for several years in Los Cabos at Querencia and Cabo del Sol, including helping to organize the annual Cabo Collegiate tournament, has been announced as the golf pro at Oleada.<\/p>\n<p>Campo Alto and Legacy Club updates<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mexiconewsdaily.com\/lifestyle\/campo-alto-at-querencia-how-a-golf-course-is-built-in-los-cabos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Campo Alto at Querencia<\/a>, the second design at the upscale residential community from Tom Fazio, is also scheduled to open by the end of the year. Tiger Woods\u2019 Legacy Club at Diamante, however \u2014 his third project at the Cabo San Lucas development, following El Cardonal, host of Los Cabos\u2019 only PGA-sponsored tournament, and the 12-hole Oasis Short Course \u2014 has seen its opening date pushed back to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/erikmatuszewski\/2026\/07\/08\/tiger-woods-third-cabo-golf-course-anchors-new-300000-private-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">early 2027<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-696311 size-full perfmatters-lazy\" alt=\"Querencia Los Cabos\" width=\"850\" height=\"567\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/image1.jpg\"  data-\/>Campo Alto golf course at Querencia is scheduled to open by the end of 2026. (Querencia)<\/p>\n<p>When these three open, the inventory of local golf courses will increase from 18 to 21.
