{"id":64802,"date":"2026-07-31T09:53:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T09:53:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/64802\/"},"modified":"2026-07-31T09:53:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T09:53:14","slug":"diehl-defence-opens-battery-production-hub-in-germany","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/64802\/","title":{"rendered":"Diehl Defence Opens Battery Production Hub in Germany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/dronefront.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">&#13;<br \/>\n    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsAppVideo2026-05-15at09.23.58.gif\" alt=\"The Drone Front\" width=\"1280\" height=\"539\"\/>&#13;<br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diehl Defence has <a href=\"https:\/\/new.diehl.com\/defence\/en\/press-media\/news\/diehl-defence-holds-opening-ceremony-for-battery-tech-hub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">opened<\/a> a new battery production facility in Germany to increase output of critical power systems used in missiles, fuzes, and other equipment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new Battery Tech Hub at the company\u2019s R\u00f6thenbach site expands production of special batteries used across Diehl\u2019s missile and ammunition portfolio. Diehl Energy Products, the company\u2019s subsidiary, will operate the facility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The site includes about 7,000 square meters (75,347 square feet) of manufacturing, development, and logistics space, plus 3,700 square meters (39,826 square feet) of offices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diehl said stronger-than-expected demand prompted the company to add extra production space during construction, increasing capacity for igniter and thermal batteries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWith the Battery Tech Hub, we are strengthening a key component of our air defense systems and ammunition,\u201d CEO Helmut Rauch said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Battery Tech Hub is part of Diehl\u2019s broader 1.5-billion-euro ($1.7-billion) investment program to modernize and expand production across its sites.<\/p>\n<p>Europe Expands Defense Hubs<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Diehl Defence\u2019s latest investment comes as European defense manufacturers continue opening and expanding sites to meet growing military demand.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In June, Rheinmetall, ERC System, and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia partnered to establish <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2026\/06\/15\/rheinmetall-germany-hub-u250-drone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">production of the Victor U250 heavy-lift drone<\/a> in western Germany.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same month, UAE defense group EDGE said it would establish <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2026\/06\/16\/edge-europe-france-defense-subsidiary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">an engineering and manufacturing hub<\/a> in Bordeaux as part of its newly launched European subsidiary in France, expanding its industrial presence across the continent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The move follows EDGE\u2019s January agreement with Spain\u2019s Indra Group to create <a href=\"https:\/\/thedefensepost.com\/2026\/01\/15\/edge-indra-spain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">a joint defense manufacturing venture in Spain<\/a> focused on loitering munitions and smart weapons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; &#13; Diehl Defence has opened a new battery production facility in Germany to increase output of critical&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":64803,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[32250,19147,5],"class_list":["post-64802","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-germany","tag-diehl","tag-diehl-defence","tag-germany"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/64802","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=64802"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/64802\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/64803"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=64802"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=64802"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=64802"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
