{"id":65337,"date":"2026-08-01T12:38:38","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T12:38:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/65337\/"},"modified":"2026-08-01T12:38:38","modified_gmt":"2026-08-01T12:38:38","slug":"china-germany-aim-to-align-on-smart-vehicle-standards-amid-escalating-trade-friction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/65337\/","title":{"rendered":"China, Germany aim to align on smart vehicle standards amid escalating trade friction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Chinese and German carmakers met in their first joint working group session of the year to align standards for smart connected vehicles, aiming for cooperation amid mounting trade friction over Chinese exports to Europe.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">More than 40 representatives from industry bodies, research institutes and carmakers \u2013 including China\u2019s BYD, Geely, SAIC, Xpeng and Xiaomi, alongside Germany\u2019s Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen and Porsche \u2013 attended the meeting in Beijing, according to a statement by the China Automotive Standardisation Research Institute on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">The two sides discussed China\u2019s autonomous driving pilot programmes, European safety guidelines for driver assistance on semi-automated cars, and automated parking standards.
