PHOTO FROM DOTR FB PAGE<\/p>\nLufthansa Technik Philippines (LTP) is expanding its footprint in the country with a new aircraft maintenance facility at Clark International Airport that is expected to create around 1,200 highly skilled jobs and strengthen the Philippines\u2019 capacity to service wide-body aircraft.<\/p>\n
The company broke ground on the facility on Thursday, August 6, with operations targeted to begin in 2028. The Clark site will have up to nine bays for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of large aircraft, positioning the facility as a major addition to the country\u2019s growing aviation industry.<\/p>\n
Transportation Secretary Banoy Lopez said the expansion would open opportunities for Filipino engineers, technicians and other aviation professionals while allowing more sophisticated aircraft maintenance work to be performed locally.<\/p>\n

\u201cIts clearest benefit to Filipinos will be opportunities it creates. Around 1,200 highly skilled jobs are expected to open over the coming years, giving Filipino engineers, technicians, and other aviation professionals the chance to receive specialized training and build lasting careers here at home,\u201d Lopez said in a message delivered by DOTr Undersecretary for Aviation and Airports Jim Sydiongco.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe facility will also expand our capacity to maintain and service wide-body aircraft here in the Philippines. In doing so, it will strengthen Clark\u2019s role as an aviation and airspace hub for the country,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The project comes as the Marcos administration seeks to modernize aviation infrastructure and position the Philippines as a global transport hub.<\/p>\n
Lufthansa Technik Chairman of the Executive Board and CEO Soeren Stark credited the company\u2019s continued expansion in the Philippines partly to the country\u2019s business environment and government support.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve been fortunate to experience both here in the Philippines for more than 25 years,\u201d Stark said.<\/p>\n
Lufthansa Technik Philippines President and CEO Holger Beck said the Clark facility will cover approximately 157,000 square meters and become an important part of the company\u2019s Asia-Pacific operations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe site will cover approximately 157,000 square meters, creating the foundation for one of the most advanced aircraft maintenance facilities. With these investments, Clark will become a key part of Lufthansa Technik\u2019s global network and an important center for aviation excellence in Asia-Pacific,\u201d Beck said.<\/p>\n
