A bright pink 911 in Porsche’s Ruby Star color is not subtle. It is also not the sort of car that blends into traffic when it is allegedly traveling more than twice the posted speed limit. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, that combination ended with an arrest and a tow truck in Fort Myers, Florida, on Sunday.

Deputies say they were conducting traffic enforcement on Three Oaks Parkway when they spotted a pink Porsche traveling 96 mph (154 km/h) in a 45 mph (72 km/h) zone. The driver, identified as Jenifer Delisi, was arrested and charged with dangerous excessive speeding.

Read: Speeding Learner Driver Gets Family’s New Honda SUV Impounded As Her Family Watches

The figures matter in Florida more than they might elsewhere. The state’s relatively new dangerous excessive speeding law applies when a driver exceeds the posted limit by 50 mph (80 km/h) or more. At an alleged 51 mph (82 km/h) over, Delisi was just one mph beyond that line. Florida’s law makes this more than a typical speeding citation. A first conviction for so-called super-speeders can bring up to 30 days in jail, a $500 fine, or both. Subsequent convictions carry a potential 90-day jail sentence, a $1,000 fine, or both.

Credit: Lee County Sheriff’s Office

According to deputies, Delisi did not try to pin the whole thing on the car. “I wasn’t trying to do anything. I apologize. It was 100 percent on me. I take full responsibility,” she told the deputy. The sheriff’s office said she was taken to the Lee County Jail, while the Porsche was towed from the scene. It also leaned into the visual aspect of the stop on Facebook, writing, “A pink Porsche is hard to miss… especially when going 96 mph.”

That is obviously true, but the color is not really the point. A 96-mph run on a road posted at 45 mph leaves precious little room for anybody else to make a mistake, whether they are changing lanes, turning into traffic, or simply trying to get home. The Porsche may have been impossible to miss, but two fewer miles per hour and it wouldn’t have ended in an arrest.

Credit: Lee County Sheriff’s Office

A Florida woman was arrested after deputies allegedly clocked her pink Porsche at 96 mph in a 45…

[21181
24348,25,8406,7070,4795
post-70876","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-porsche","tag-offbeat-news","tag-police","tag-porsche","tag-porsche-911","tag-video
["GET
