Credit: Rolf Otzipka\/EnBW. <\/p>\n<p class=\"drop-cap\">EnBW Energie Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg (EnBW) has completed the installation of all 64 wind turbines at the 960MW He Dreiht offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas delivered and installed the turbines, each with a 15MW output.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.power-technology.com\/wp-content\/themes\/goodlife-wp-B2B\/assets\/img\/globaldata_marketing_solutions_logo.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Discover B2B Marketing That Performs <\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\tCombine business intelligence and editorial excellence to reach engaged professionals across 36 leading media platforms.\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.globaldatamarketingsolutions.com\/\" class=\"gms-find-out-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFind out more <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The wind farm is located approximately 85km northwest of Borkum and 110km west of Heligoland.<\/p>\n<p>Technical and electrical commissioning work is set to continue in the coming weeks, with EnBW expecting He Dreiht to become fully operational by late summer.<\/p>\n<p>Vestas is investigating after damage was discovered to a rotor blade in late July.<\/p>\n<p>Once complete, the wind farm will have the capacity to supply electricity to an estimated 1.1 million households.<\/p>\n<p>EnBW board member for sustainable generation infrastructure Peter Heydecker said: \u201cWe have reached another important milestone at He Dreiht following the completion of the wind turbine installation work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOffshore wind is a domestic, renewable energy source that can generate considerable amounts of electricity for many hours a year, thus playing a key role in maintaining security of supply and decarbonising the electricity system.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs our largest offshore project to date, He Dreiht reflects our continued commitment to expanding renewable energy and advancing our generation portfolio toward climate neutrality.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>EnBW stated the project is being developed without state funding, and the investment totals approximately \u20ac2.4bn ($2.77bn).<\/p>\n<p>A consortium of Allianz Global Investors, AIP Management and Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) holds a 49.9% stake in He Dreiht, with EnBW retaining the remaining 50.1% stake.<\/p>\n<p>Most electricity produced at the site has already been allocated through long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs).<\/p>\n<p>EnBW reported ongoing talks with additional potential buyers for any remaining output.<\/p>\n<p>EnBW\u2019s offshore office in Hamburg is responsible for coordinating the development of the project.<\/p>\n<p>Additional phases will include final technical checks and commissioning works before full commercial operation begins later in the year.<\/p>\n<p>In February this year, EnBW <a href=\"https:\/\/www.power-technology.com\/news\/enbw-google-sign-ppa-100mw-germany\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">signed a 15-year PPA<\/a> with Google to supply 100MW of clean electricity from the He Dreiht offshore wind farm.<\/p>\n<p>                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.power-technology.com\/wp-content\/themes\/goodlife-wp-B2B\/assets\/images\/newsletter-new.svg\" alt=\"Email newsletter icon\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\n                    Sign up for our daily news round-up!<br \/>\n                    Give your business an edge with our leading industry insights.\n                <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Installation of a wind turbine at the He Dreiht Offshore Wind Farm.
