{"id":71514,"date":"2026-08-13T04:46:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T04:46:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/71514\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T04:46:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T04:46:09","slug":"bmw-driver-accused-of-going-110-mph-in-a-45-mph-zone-in-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/71514\/","title":{"rendered":"BMW driver accused of going 110 mph in a 45 mph zone in Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BMW driver accused of going 110 mph in a 45 mph zone in East Naples<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gulfcoastnewsnow.com\/news-team\/a91bf410-a43b-4484-9bee-db360978dd2a\" aria-label=\"Edward Franco profile page\" class=\"css-15eikfp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/a91bf410-a43b-4484-9bee-db360978dd2a_1772510870.JPG\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" alt=\"Edward Franco\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/a>EAST NAPLES, Fla. \u2014<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"0\">The Collier County Sheriff\u2019s Office arrested 25-year-old Alfredo Specchia in East Naples after he was accused of driving in his black BMW at speeds of up to 110 mph in a 45-mph zone late Monday night.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"1\">Deputies said Specchia was driving on US-41 near Frederick Street with a loud exhaust when radar showed his speed reportedly climbing to 106 mph and topping out at 110 mph.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"2\">Nicholas Lichter, a Naples resident, shared his concerns about the dangers of speeding, especially with school back in session.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"3\">&#8220;Coming down Tamiami Trail doing 100 miles an hour. Especially if you have kids. School started yesterday. Yeah, that&#8217;s pretty dangerous,&#8221; Lichter said.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"4\">Deputies said Specchia turned onto Airport-Pulling Road and then Davis Boulevard, and he was accused of continuing to accelerate.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"5\">&#8220;Way too fast,&#8221; said Philip Johnston, another Naples resident. &#8220;Especially on US-41, it&#8217;s too fast.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"6\">Specchia was stopped near Heritage Trail and told deputies he was speeding because he had just gotten his car back from his mechanic, according to the report.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"7\">&#8220;Yeah, that doesn&#8217;t really fly,&#8221; Lichter said.  <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"8\">Deputies also noted that Specchia legally had a Glock 19 handgun on his front waistband at the time of the stop. <\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"9\">He was taken to the Naples Jail and has since been released on bond.<\/p>\n<p data-node-id=\"10\">DOWNLOAD\u202fthe free\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/qrco.de\/gcnapp\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Gulf Coast News app<\/a>\u202ffor your latest news and alerts on breaking news, weather, sports, entertainment, and more on your phone or tablet.
