{"id":71540,"date":"2026-08-13T06:13:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-13T06:13:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/71540\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T06:13:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T06:13:10","slug":"aldi-calling-on-devon-shoppers-to-support-foodbanks-during-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/71540\/","title":{"rendered":"Aldi calling on Devon shoppers to support foodbanks during summer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Aldi is calling on shoppers to help support foodbanks during the summer holidays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">With families across Devon facing increased pressures while schools are closed, the supermarket chain is highlighting the most-needed items identified by its charity partner Neighbourly to make donating easier during the weekly shop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The appeal comes as rising food costs and the absence of free school meals leave some households struggling to put food on the table.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Luke Emery, national sustainability director at Aldi UK, said: &#8220;The summer holidays can be a particularly difficult time for many families, with the cost of keeping children fed while they&#8217;re home from school putting extra pressure on household budgets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;We know our customers are incredibly generous and want to support people in their local communities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Even adding just one extra everyday essential to your weekly shop can make a real difference.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Among the most-requested items are tinned food, toiletries, UHT milk, tea and coffee, cereals, juices, rice, pasta, pet food, and baby products.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Donations can be dropped off at community collection points in Aldi stores, where they are distributed to foodbanks and charities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Aldi expects to donate an estimated two million meals across the UK this summer through its partnership with Neighbourly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Aldi is calling on shoppers to help support foodbanks during the summer holidays.
