However, several questions remain regarding its international availability and legal classification.

Pre-orders for the Rivian Also TM are currently open in the US, where the Standard version starts at $3,500 and the Performance variant is listed at $4,500. The Performance model boasts an advertised range of up to 160 km (100 miles), and buyers can opt for off-road-capable tires for an additional fee.

Whether the TM-B will officially launch in Germany remains uncertain. Unsurprisingly, the US spec fails to meet European requirements for registration-free e-bikes (Pedelecs). The primary issue is not peak power—the impressive 180 Nm torque output could legally be utilized in Europe, at least in a boost mode—but rather the maximum assisted speed of 45 km/h (28 mph). The manufacturer could also choose to launch the TM-B as an S-Pedelec on the European market, which would restrict its legal use primarily to public roads rather than cycle paths.

While some manufacturers strive to discreetly integrate the drive system into the frame, Also explicitly highlights the motor and battery inside a prominent central box. This design choice is visually distinct and makes engineering sense by optimizing weight distribution and keeping the center of gravity low. The removable battery doubles as a high-capacity power bank for external devices. According to the manufacturer, the drivetrain also supports energy recovery during braking—though regenerative braking inherently relies on anticipatory riding without engaging the disc brakes. The e-bike’s hardware package is rounded out by full suspension and a low-maintenance carbon belt drive.

ⓘ Also

The battery can be removed and then functions as a power bank.

ⓘ Also

A belt drive is installed.

I have been active as a journalist for over 10 years, most of it in the field of technology.
