{"id":73089,"date":"2026-08-15T19:12:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T19:12:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/73089\/"},"modified":"2026-08-15T19:12:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T19:12:17","slug":"pascal-wehrlein-responds-to-porsches-team-tactics-after-dominant-london-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/73089\/","title":{"rendered":"Pascal Wehrlein responds to Porsche\u2019s team tactics after dominant London win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/pascal-wehrlein\/18167\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Pascal Wehrlein<\/a> has defended Porsche\u2019s use of team tactics to aid his victory in Saturday\u2019s London E-Prix and strengthen his bid for the 2025-26 Formula E title.<\/p>\n<p>Wehrlein converted pole position into a dominant win in the penultimate race of the season, jumping from third to first in the drivers\u2019 standings in the process.<\/p>\n<p>While the German was rapid throughout the day, his chances of a clean sweep were boosted by Porsche, which deployed several team orders to ensure he secured the maximum points available in London.<\/p>\n<p>In qualifying, both factory team-mate Nico Muller and\u00a0Kiro driver Dan Tickum slowed down during the duel phases, enabling Wehrlein to claim pole with limited opposition.<\/p>\n<p>Muller then backed up title rival <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/mitch-evans\/17548\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Mitch Evans<\/a> and the rest of the field throughout the first stint, allowing Wehrlein to pull an advantage of over two seconds while simultaneously conserving energy.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/formula-e\/news\/porsche-pascal-wehrlein-worried-about-formula-e-rivals-manipulating-london-finale\/10846348\/\" data-custom-text=\"1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wehrlein\u00a0admitted he wasn\u2019t the biggest fan of team tactics<\/a>, as he expressed some worries about rivals trying to \u201cmanipulate\u201d the race to swing the title in their direction.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about those comments after Saturday\u2019s race, Wehrlein pointed to the 2024 Monaco E-Prix, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motorsport.com\/driver\/nick-cassidy\/19250\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Nick Cassidy<\/a> slowed the pace in a similar fashion to allow team-mate Evans to arm both Attack Modes without losing track position.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s not the first time that we are seeing that,\u201d the 31-year-old told Motorsport.com. \u201cI remember Jaguar also won a Monaco race like that.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think today could have been a 1-2 for the team.
