{"id":73248,"date":"2026-08-16T08:19:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-16T08:19:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/73248\/"},"modified":"2026-08-16T08:19:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-16T08:19:12","slug":"middle-east-flights-air-canada-air-france-and-scoot-extend-suspensions-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/73248\/","title":{"rendered":"Middle East flights: Air Canada, Air France and Scoot extend suspensions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-0-6DTRINOEL5CZPIHWAZLCGKTTQE\">International airlines are continuing to adjust schedules for Middle East flights as airspace restrictions and operational uncertainty persist.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-1-P4JHFWWW7BHM7CRIMOW3MNC4EU\">Against the backdrop of continuing geopolitical uncertainty across the region, here&#8217;s how international airlines are adjusting their operations.<\/p>\n<p>Emirates<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-4-VDZW3NJS2BCDHGJ4EGMG3G2N4Y\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/travel\/2026\/08\/14\/emirates-etihad-bahrain-kuwait-cancellations-us-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/travel\/2026\/08\/14\/emirates-etihad-bahrain-kuwait-cancellations-us-iran\/\">Emirates<\/a> is set to resume flights between Dubai and Bahrain from Saturday, August 15, after weeks of cancellations owing to regional tensions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-6-QXSIYFEXTBHDZC7SZYKZIUQD3E\">The airline currently lists one service, EK839, departing Dubai International Airport at 4pm and arriving in Bahrain at 4.20pm local time. The return marks a limited resumption of a route on which Emirates previously operated three daily services. Its other two scheduled Bahrain flights, EK835 and EK837, remain cancelled for now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-8-MDMK45BMBFAO5HJFRAY3WEIVRU\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/tags\/emirates-airlines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/tags\/emirates-airlines\/\">Emirates services<\/a> between Dubai and Kuwait remain suspended, however, with no flights currently listed on the airline&#8217;s website. The airline had previously suspended all three of its daily Bahrain services, as well as four daily Kuwait flights \u2013 EK853, EK855, EK857 and EK859 \u2013 amid regional tensions and disruption in the Gulf.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-9-N6UOUE43G5HYJHZ6DJKCGA3XVY\">A disclaimer on the airline&#8217;s website states: \u201cPlease be aware that we can only show the services offered on Emirates-operated flights. For any connecting flights operated by codeshare<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thenationalnews.com\/tags\/airlines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">airlines<\/a>, please refer to their website.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Air Canada<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-11-ERUMQ3BD4VAJRKY7ZAICBFY5TA\">Air Canada has extended the suspension of its flights to Tel Aviv and Dubai until &#8220;mid-January 2027&#8221;. Passengers affected by the cancellations are advised to check directly with the airline for rebooking and refund options as schedules continue to be adjusted in response to regional conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-12-O6AD4OYMJBE7BBHHUYR3R5ILEY\">&#8220;If you are in either of these regions, please do not head to the airport unless you have a confirmed flight with another airline, and your flight is operating as scheduled. Your safety is our top priority,&#8221; the airline said on its website.<\/p>\n<p>KLM<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-16-5XNCJ23NRZB2JJVORYOVXV4BKI\">KLM has adjusted its flight schedule across the Middle East and continues to avoid flying through the airspace of Iran, Iraq and Israel, as well as parts of the Arabian Gulf.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-17-KBTSQIH3ZFCIXKWEFZ7FRYUF6A\">Flights to and from Riyadh, Dammam and Dubai are suspended until September 6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-18-KQ2EMHIJRRFG7LZATDTXQHMLHA\">The airline said it was not yet able to resume its regular schedule in the region, with flights cancelled or adjusted depending on operational conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-19-THQUX4KXQBBZ5IIATJCD3JKUIU\">Passengers affected by cancellations can rebook their travel for a later date or request a refund, depending on ticket conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Air France <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-21-S26FLPWXLFEYFDRRQUKIFJOZFA\">Air France flights to Riyadh are suspended until August 21, while flights to Dubai and Beirut are suspended until August 25. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-22-OQLTJLVV6ZBHFKDABDEIWYPYUE\">&#8220;The resumption of operations will remain subject to an assessment of the security situation locally, which is rapidly evolving,&#8221; the airline said. <\/p>\n<p>Singapore Airlines<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-25-XMLMYGWFKVHTFOTUSHVMBIWVHM\">Singapore Airlines flights to Dubai were scheduled to resume on August 2, but the suspension has been extended until October 24.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-26-66LHVHCF55GY7FRDTPB3T2KCNQ\">\u201cAs the situation remains fluid, other flights may be affected,\u201d the airline said on its website. \u201cCustomers affected by flight cancellations will be reaccommodated on alternative flights or can seek a full refund of the unused portion of their ticket.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Scoot<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-28-LGVI2PQFJ5H4HCVILSCNLYGECA\">The low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines has suspended its Singapore-Jeddah flights until September 12.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-29-S63VLAZBJRCXBOZA3MWP5PSQRY\">Customers affected by flight cancellations may request a full refund if they choose not to continue with their travel, or rebook on alternative Scoot flights, the airline said.<\/p>\n<p>Turkish Airlines<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-31-7TVO2J3XCZGM5NPNV5EYSXMEMQ\">Turkish Airlines has resumed flights to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Damascus, Beirut and Amman as the carrier continues to restore services across parts of the Middle East. But flights to Iran remain suspended. The airline also warned of further disruption due to the latest escalation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-32-HTPNKX3JYRAU3JEB7WMXAOWBQE\">\u201cSome of our flights to and from Iran and the surrounding region have been cancelled. The current situation in the region&#8217;s airspace is being monitored in real-time, and additional flight cancellations may occur,\u201d the airline posted on its website.<\/p>\n<p>Philippine Airlines<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-34-352P5AL23ZEDVEN7QZHNGBYAZI\">Philippine Airlines flights from Manila to Doha have resumed, but flights to Dubai are suspended until October 2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-35-RG7AFUWZFBB7LJFJGWTG2ZWPWQ\">\u201cWe continue to closely monitor the situation and will restore full capacity as conditions allow,\u201d the airline said.<\/p>\n<p>British Airways<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-37-WLEZ7FNBCJBC7BS2FORJPZSFUU\">British Airways has delayed its phased return to the Middle East, originally set to resume on July 1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-38-XVRNO6HTGFHJPCRRBSUIM2X3UM\">Under the revised schedule, flights to Dubai, Tel Aviv, Bahrain and Amman will remain suspended until October 25.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-39-TQWEIF2R2FB4ZNYQB4SRPSLJUU\">The carrier is also reducing frequencies on other Middle East routes. Flights to Doha will operate once daily instead of twice daily from August 1, while services to Riyadh will be reduced from two daily flights to one daily flight from August 8.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-40-RI25OIAFOFC7PCUQDO6KGBKAVI\">The airline has permanently suspended flights to Jeddah.<\/p>\n<p>Air Astana<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-42-QETNKMBZIBHQBENJ5WEJWSUOTY\">Kazakhstan&#8217;s national carrier has suspended flights from Almaty and Astana to Dubai until August 31 \u201cdue to the further deterioration of the situation in the Strait of Hormuz and the wider Gulf area\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-43-WRLB344O5VA6NH56YCXOJCFYB4\">\u201cPassengers are entitled to a full refund at the point of purchase, free rebooking to later dates, or rebooking to other international destinations operated by Air Astana,\u201d the airline said.<\/p>\n<p>Finnair<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-46-RLEIYM66YND5DB4XUCLBXFGDXA\">Finnair has extended its flight suspensions between Helsinki and Dubai until October 24. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-47-J4ZSBKX5DFCLTGL7KRRSBUBUZA\">Meanwhile, its flights to Doha will remain suspended for the winter season \u201cdue to commercial reasons\u201d, the airline said. \u201cFinnair customers who have bookings from October 3 to March 27, 2027, will be rerouted, mostly on Qatar Airways-operated flights on these routes,\u201d the airline said.<\/p>\n<p>Cathay Pacific<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-49-BABXQ2GEUZAA3NH2SABBKIHZOQ\">The Hong Kong carrier has extended its suspension of flights to and from Dubai and Riyadh until October 25 and October 26, respectively. Flights were earlier scheduled to resume on September 1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-50-FFV6L2MYXNHPXNNLTK6RE6467Y\">\u201cAffected travellers will be offered the flexibility to rebook, reroute or refund their tickets. Cathay will continue to closely monitor the evolving situation in the Middle East,\u201d the airline said.<\/p>\n<p>Lufthansa<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-52-KKDG3EITU5FUJOJZOVYKUAVETA\">Lufthansa Group has suspended flights to several destinations in the region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-53-WUZWX5NVY5DH7KXCRLAAWAKXOE\">While Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss have resumed operations to Tel Aviv, Brussels Airlines flights to Tel Aviv remain suspended.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-54-WO3H7VK5UFFEHDUMDN2IMJGKSM\">Lufthansa and Swiss flights to Dubai also remain suspended until September 13.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-55-7TDX7NCQHNCPZDE6SOBNG3ATBQ\">Meanwhile, services of Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines to Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Dammam, Riyadh, Erbil, Muscat and Tehran are on hold until October 24.<\/p>\n<p>ITA Airways<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-57-CA3Z2J74DVB7RPPBWV7QBOSDDU\">The national carrier of Italy has suspended flights to Riyadh until September 15, while flights to Dubai are suspended until October 24. <\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-58-ODFGHEHJFZBQHBTH7D4RBVLPFU\">\u201cPassengers can request rebooking on an alternative flight or a refund of their ticket,\u201d the airline said.<\/p>\n<p>United Airlines<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-60-XSGCM2AAD5FCDBOU72VWX62HWI\">United Airlines flights to Dubai and Tel Aviv continue to be affected by continuing disruption.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-61-VD6SQPSORFGR7L4LV4JOC67KHY\">Passengers affected by cancellations until September 7 can rebook their travel or request a refund, depending on ticket conditions, the airline said.<\/p>\n<p>American Airlines<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-63-3RLNB7RQT5EBNGGP6HYJYMEEWE\">American Airlines has updated its travel alerts for passengers flying to or through parts of the Middle East, including Tel Aviv and Doha, with flexible booking options in place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-64-3X3TWL23VFG6FBIA7AOA43DCGM\">Customers who purchased tickets by March 28 for travel between February 28 and January 6, 2027, can make a one-time change without a fee, provided they keep the same origin and destination and travel in the same cabin, subject to availability.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-65-7TCL6SH3CNFCZLTMXLLIPSS3VQ\">Passengers also have the option to cancel their trip and request a refund, depending on ticket conditions. The airline said schedules and policies remain subject to change.<\/p>\n<p>IndiGo<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-67-XPHTK6RCZREO7MX5F3FR6MYLC4\">IndiGo operates routes across the Gulf from Indian cities including New Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. However, the airline has warned passengers travelling to and from the region to expect potential disruptions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"defaultstyled__StyledText-sc-11u52t4-1 eVvrYS margin-lg-bottom\" id=\"el-68-F2LCY7RXQBHWDFE4YV5UTSN6BE\">&#8220;Due to the evolving situation in the Middle East, there may be changes to flight schedules.
