Traton Group and its Volkswagen Truck & Bus brand have launched the e-Dutra project to establish a zero-emissions freight corridor between Rio de Janeiro and S\u00e3o Paulo. The coalition includes logistics companies, infrastructure providers, and the Brazilian government, with the project presented at COP30 in Bel\u00e9m on 11 November.<\/p>\n
The e-Dutra corridor is part of the Global Green Road Corridors initiative and aims to decarbonise heavy-duty freight transport between Brazil\u2019s two largest cities. The project aggregates demand and aligns stakeholders to reduce investment risk in charging infrastructure and accelerate the deployment of zero-emission trucks.<\/p>\n
\u201ce-Dutra isn\u2019t just a project; it proves that transformation is possible when we work together,\u201d Andreas Foll\u00e9r, Chief Sustainability Officer at Traton, said.<\/p>\n
Volkswagen Truck & Bus has completed the first electric truck trip along the corridor in collaboration with LOTS Group using existing infrastructure. DHL Supply Chain, Amazon, and Scania have also begun operating electric freight routes in the region.<\/p>\n
