Few racing circuits are as well-known outside the car fan community and command the respect and mythology of the N\u00fcrburgring Nordschleife. For almost a century, it has served as the proving ground for racing drivers, manufacturers and performance cars, and few brands are more closely associated with it than Porsche<\/a>. Beyond countless motorsport victories, every modern Porsche goes through extensive testing on the Nordschleife. To celebrate the N\u00fcrburgring\u2019s 100th anniversary in 2027, Porsche has created the 911 GT3<\/a> 100 Jahre N\u00fcrburgring, accompanied by an exclusive Porsche Design<\/a> Chronograph 1<\/a> edition, reserved exclusively for buyers of the anniversary GT3.<\/p>\n

The Porsche Design Chronograph 1 \u2013 911 GT3 100 Jahre N\u00fcrburgring continues the legacy of the iconic Chronograph 1<\/a>, designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche<\/a> in 1972. Its 40.8mm titanium case, 14.15mm thick, receives a black titanium carbide coating, giving the watch an instrument-like appearance. Water-resistant to 100m, it is topped by a sapphire crystal with a seven-layer anti-reflective coating on both sides. The screw-down crown and the screwed sapphire caseback engraved with the individual limitation number complete the construction.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the dashboard of the Porsche 911, the black dial features crisp white numerals, indices and hands, with a tachymeter scale on the wide flange. The chronograph 30-minute counter is at 12 o\u2019clock, the 12-hour counter at 6, the bilingual German-English day-and-date display at 3 o\u2019clock, and the running seconds display at 9 o\u2019clock features a green Aero Disc graphic inside, referencing the Nordschleife\u2019s forest surroundings. A N\u00fcrburgring logo on the dial is another detail. Super-LumiNova on hands and indices ensures readability in low-light conditions.<\/p>\n

The Chronograph 1 \u2013 911 GT3 100 Jahre N\u00fcrburgring is powered by the Porsche Design Calibre WERK 01.140, a Sellita-based COSC-certified automatic chronograph that operates at 28,800 vibrations\/hour and delivers a 48-hour power reserve. The rotor, visible through the caseback, reproduces the wheel of the anniversary GT3, with its California Gold finish and black centre-lock hub bearing GT3 lettering. The watch is worn on a strap made from genuine black Porsche interior leather with perforations, green textile backing and GT Silver contrast stitching, matching the interior of the car. A green textile hook-and-loop strap is also included, and both can be swapped in seconds thanks to Porsche Design\u2019s quick-change system.<\/p>\n
