{"id":74303,"date":"2026-08-18T08:54:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T08:54:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/74303\/"},"modified":"2026-08-18T08:54:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T08:54:13","slug":"deutsche-telekom-to-acquire-fiberhost-inea-in-e1bn-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/74303\/","title":{"rendered":"Deutsche Telekom to acquire Fiberhost, Inea in \u20ac1bn deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deutsche Telekom (DT) has agreed to acquire Polish fibre network operator Fiberhost and broadband and TV provider Inea in a deal valued at around \u20ac1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mobileeurope.co.uk\/tag\/Deutsche-Telekom\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the telecom giant<\/a> will take full ownership of both businesses from Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 5, managed by Macquarie Asset Management and minority shareholders.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition will add 300,000 Inea customers in Poland and giving the operator access to a <a href=\"http:\/\/mobileeurope.co.uk\/tag\/fibre\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">fibre<\/a> network in that passes more than 1.4 million homes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mobileeurope.co.uk\/subscriptions\/?utm_source=Content+Snippet&amp;utm_medium=website&amp;utm_campaign=Subscribe&amp;utm_id=Newsletter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><br \/>\n  <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 100%; display: block;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Newsletter-aug26-mobile3.gif\" alt=\"Sign up to our weekly newsletter\"\/><\/p>\n<p><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to the telecom giant, the move also \u201cstrengthens T-Mobile Polska\u2019s role as an investor in critical infrastructure supporting Poland\u2019s digitalisation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DT Europe CEO, Dominique Leroy, said: \u201cThis is an important milestone in T-Mobile Polska\u2019s continuous growth story. By bringing together strong mobile and fibre capabilities, we are creating an even better foundation for simple, reliable services for our customers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the same time, it will allow T-Mobile Polska to extend its contribution to the digitalization of Poland and its economy. Investments like this matter beyond one market. Strong digital infrastructure is essential for Europe\u2019s competitiveness, resilience and future growth. I am proud that Deutsche Telekom continues to play an active role in making that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>T-Mobile Polska CEO Andreas Maierhofer continued: \u201cWe are opening a new chapter in T-Mobile Polska\u2019s journey. Our award-winning mobile network, nationwide backbone, data centres and fibre infrastructure will now be complemented by our own fibre-to-the-home network reaching 1.4 million households. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOwning an FTTH network will allow us to further develop our already successful portfolio of convergent products.
