As an official software partner of Mercedes-Benz Korea, LG Uplus will oversee the full scope of the project—from service planning to content provisioning and operations.

Live TV+ enables in-vehicle viewing of 28 broadcast channels spanning news, golf, music, entertainment, and kids’ programming. A key differentiator is that users can access any channel instantly without a separate account authentication process. Unlike legacy DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) technology, the service transmits content over in-vehicle wireless connectivity, ensuring uninterrupted viewing even in areas with poor signal reception such as underground parking garages and tunnels. The service also supports independent channel viewing on multiple displays installed throughout the cabin—driver’s seat, passenger seat, and rear seats—allowing each occupant to enjoy their preferred content simultaneously.

Live TV+ also features a dedicated Mercedes-Benz brand channel. It functions as a “brand hub” that continuously delivers brand content including new vehicle introductions and campaign videos. The design goes beyond simple video streaming to serve as a marketing channel for the automaker’s brand.

The collaboration is particularly significant in that LG Uplus passed Mercedes-Benz’s rigorous technology, quality, and security assessments to be formally registered as a software vendor. Drawing on its in-house connected car development experience and operational expertise in IPTV (U+tv) and mobile TV, LG Uplus co-developed a dedicated user experience (UX) optimized for Mercedes-Benz vehicle environments with Mercedes-Benz Korea. The company said it incorporated the latest MBUX system characteristics to implement a screen layout that minimizes driver distraction, rapid channel navigation, and seamless screen transitions between driving and stationary states.

LG Uplus plans to expand Live TV+ availability starting with The New S-Class to a range of upcoming models, including The All-New Electric GLC.

LG Uplus has accumulated “full-stack” media capabilities spanning content acquisition and programming to platform development and service operations through its IPTV, mobile TV, and FAST channel businesses. In the automotive infotainment space, the company has a track record of deploying services across multiple automaker brands including Toyota, KGM, Hyundai Motor, and Kia.

“This service is the result of adapting LG Uplus’s media operations expertise to the Mercedes-Benz vehicle environment,” said Bae Jun-hyung, head of LG Uplus’s Mobility Business TF. “We will continue to expand collaboration with global automakers and enhance the service so customers can enjoy a more convenient and differentiated media experience inside their vehicles.”

LG Uplus (032640) announced on the 18th that it will equip The New S-Class, Mercedes-Benz Korea’s new flagship…

[20951
55115,40462,55116,22522,54917,54918,43899,3622,31055,45792,45794,20477
post-74323","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mercedes-benz","tag-bae-jun-hyung","tag-hyundai-motor","tag-kgm","tag-kia","tag-lg-uplus","tag-live-tv","tag-mbux","tag-mercedes-benz","tag-mercedes-benz-korea","tag-the-all-new-electric-glc","tag-the-new-s-class","tag-toyota
["GET
