The Bruins will play a pair of games at SAP Garden in Munich, Germany, during the 2027-28 season as part of the 2027 NHL Global Series. It\u2019s the first time the city has hosted a regular-season NHL game. Details dates and tickets will be announced later.<\/p>\n
Sturm, poised to head into his second season as Bruins coach, is a native of Dingolfing, Germany, and served as head coach and general manager of the country\u2019s national team from 2015-18. He was behind the bench when Germany earned a silver medal at the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang.<\/p>\n
Sturm has played more NHL games (938) than any German-born player<\/a> and ranks second in career goals (242) and points (487). Reichel, who played in 10 games for the Bruins last season, grew up in Nurnberg, Germany. Both played for Germany at the 2026 Olympics. <\/p>\n This marks the Bruins\u2019 second trip to Europe for the Global Series. The Black and Gold played a pair of games against the Coyotes in Prague, Czechia, to open the 2010-11 season. <\/p>\n The franchise also played two preseason games against the Flames in Shenzhen and Beijing, China in 2018.
