If nothing has impressed so far, you\u2019d have to be a Top Fuel driver to witness the Turbo GT<\/a>\u2019s run without at least a nod of acknowledgment. The Taycan is in bonkers territory. A 14.8-second run used to be a solid quarter-mile, maybe with a trap speed of close to 100 mph. And here, we\u2019ve done it to 150 and back again. Oh, and we\u2019re only up to third place.<\/p>\n

The Turbo GT with Weissach package is an odd duck. It\u2019s a track-prepped, four-digit-horsepower, two-seat, four-door electric sedan that vaults to 60 mph in under two seconds.<\/p>\n

The Taycan\u2019s tricks start with an electric motor turning each axle and a two-speed transaxle in the rear, which improves both acceleration and efficiency. The big wing adds more drag, but if the Taycan was struggling to move forward, we couldn\u2019t tell.<\/p>\n

Of all the cars in this test, the Taycan might be the most competitive in an actual dragstrip bracket race, as its launching procedure was as simple as sticking it in Sport Plus, holding both pedals, and releasing the brake. In seven back-to-back runs, it was within 0.5 second of its best time.<\/p>\n
