The deputy speaker of the Bundestag has extensive expertise as a mediator and also brings political experience as well as an ability to balance differing interests to the upcoming proceedings, the union said on Friday. Ramelow is also waiving his fee. It is to go, among other things, to the Erfurt education initiative ‘Das fliegende Klassenzimmer’ (‘The Flying Classroom’). Lufthansa can also nominate a mediator in the process.<\/p>\n
VC recently said mediation proceedings had been agreed for the Lufthansa core brand, Lufthansa Cargo, Cityline and leisure carrier Eurowings. These are a key component of a procedural agreement that is also intended to include mediation on ‘other topics in our collective bargaining relations’. Among other demands, the union is seeking higher employer contributions to occupational pensions for the nearly 5,000 pilots.<\/p>\n
\n (Reporting by Matthias Inverardi, edited by Ralf Banser.
