The six newly added entities were all German cooperative banks: Raiffeisenbank Aidlingen, Ihre Volksbank, VR-Bank Mittelfranken Mitte, Volksbank Euskirchen, VR Bank Lahn-Dill-Oberwald, and Volksbank Backnang.<\/p>\n<p>The update lifted Germany\u2019s total number of licensed CASPs to 79. That puts it well ahead of France, with 35, and the Netherlands, with 29. Germany\u2019s count increased by 22 in two months from 57 at the end of June.<\/p>\n<p>BaFin told Cointelegraph that Germany\u2019s large number of licenses reflects the size of its financial sector and the number of credit institutions able to offer crypto-asset services. The regulator added that Germany had already established a domestic licensing framework before the transition to MiCA, allowing some firms to receive approval through a simplified process.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, ESMA\u2019s register for asset-referenced tokens, or ARTs, remained empty.
