Even though the special edition broke cover in late May 2025, BMW keeps finding ways to bring it back. Japan recently got the Competition Sport as a new Edge version with extra M Performance goodies. Now, Argentina welcomes the hardcore G87 as the first model sold locally with a CS badge.

BMW isn’t saying a word about how many cars are destined for the Argentine market. It does, however, remind us that it’s selling a “small number of units worldwide.” According to our sources, the M2 CS is globally capped at around 2,000 units, or even fewer. Customers in the South American country aren’t missing out on any color options. Thankfully, all four are available: Sapphire Black, Brooklyn Gray, M Portimao Blue, and Individual Velvet Blue.

As you can imagine, the CS doesn’t come cheap by any stretch of the imagination. While the regular car starts at $127,900 in Argentina, the limited-run version is nearly 50 percent more expensive. At $189,900, the sticker price is not for the faint-hearted. Nevertheless, we’re glad to see one more market getting BMW’s meanest M2 to date.

BMW M2 CS at 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed / Hardy MutschlerThe BMW M2 Story Doesn’t End With The CS

Since the CS came out last year, BMW has already expanded the M2 lineup with an xDrive version. It might not be the end of the story, as reports point to the M division further diversifying the lineup in the coming years. Nothing is official yet, but a new member of the M2 family could arrive before this generation goes out of production around 2029.

Whether BMW intends to build a manual M2 CS is unclear, but it would make sense given that the M3 CS has received the three-pedal setup. Another plausible scenario is an all-wheel-drive version, now that xDrive is available for the standard car. Sticking to the CS theme, the company could add an “L” to the badge and create the ultimate version: the M2 CSL. It would be the lightest G87, possibly with only two seats, a manual gearbox, and rear-wheel drive.

Meanwhile, it appears the M2 CS story isn’t over just yet. It’s unclear if other markets will follow Argentina, but BMW seems determined to keep the Competition Sport treatment alive for its smallest M car.

I’m sure some will speculate that the car hasn’t been selling all that well, prompting BMW to change its plans and launch it in additional markets. However, it would be wrong to make that assumption without facts. We prefer to see the glass half full and appreciate the car’s broader availability, even long after its official debut.

Article SummaryPriced at $189,900, the M2 CS commands a $62,000 premium over the regular M2.Buyers can choose from…

[20955
6213,23176,28417
post-78025","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-bmw","tag-bmw","tag-m2-cs","tag-m2-g87
["GET
