{"id":78477,"date":"2026-08-25T05:35:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T05:35:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/78477\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T05:35:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T05:35:11","slug":"north-carolina-doctor-richard-arriviello-accused-of-shooting-2-sisters-in-alleged-interstate-road-rage-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/78477\/","title":{"rendered":"North Carolina doctor Richard Arriviello accused of shooting 2 sisters in alleged interstate road rage attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A North Carolina doctor was arrested Aug. 22 after he allegedly fired into a Jeep during an interstate road rage incident, wounding two sisters, ages 12 and 20, according to Virginia State Police.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Richard Thomas Arriviello, 61, of\u00a0Charlotte, North Carolina, was driving north on Interstate 77 in his Mercedes-Benz around 8:50 a.m. when gunfire erupted about three miles north of the North Carolina-Virginia state line.<\/p>\n<p>State police said in a press release that Arriviello fired into the moving Jeep, striking both sisters in the legs.<\/p>\n<p>Both victims were airlifted to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to police.<\/p>\n<p>Arriviello then fled in his Mercedes-Benz, police said.<\/p>\n<p>Troopers spotted and stopped the Mercedes-Benz about 15 miles away and took Arriviello into custody.<\/p>\n<p>Arriviello faces several felony charges, including malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle, maliciously causing bodily harm to another with intent to maim and use of a firearm while committing a felony.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.50146628;display:block\" decoding=\"async\"   data-modal-image=\"40494454\" width=\"886\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/germany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/dr-richard-thomas-arriviello-charlotte-138429890.jpg\" alt=\"Dr. Richard Arriviello, 61, was arrested for allegedly shooting and wounding two sisters, ages 12 and 20, in an I-77 road rage incident.\" class=\"wp-image-40494454\"\/>Dr. Richard Arriviello, 61, was arrested for allegedly shooting and wounding two sisters, ages 12 and 20, in an I-77 road rage incident.
